Slightly annoyed my wife asking her to stop mentioning the road conditions in Costa Rica to the locals. “Honey, they know.”

We play it so infrequently that we always seem to just play boards 1 or 2. Today we played #3.

You cannot say “That Sarong” without doing an unintentional Mario impression.
A moon sliver over palm trees.
The view from my beach chair at the moment.
Been reading a couple of Dave Barry’s older books on vacation. Keep visualizing Harry Anderson, Ken Burns, and @scalzi.com as I’m reading. Not sure I’ve ever looked up what Barry actually looks like.

Housekeeping: “Turn down service.”
Me: “Come in.”

Housekeeping: “I’m sorry, but I’m seeing somebody.” <shuts door>
Wondering if it would be cheaper to give everyone in South America a bidet and work on water pressure issues first, *then* work on updating their sewage systems.
Wonder if this is related to my brother who, no joke, had a black-eyed pea in his ear and to this day refuses to say how it got there.
To reach the pool area from our hotel room:
From the 4th floor of building 3 walk to the elevator that is labeled floor 2 down to floor 1.
Exit that elevator and walk across the sky bridge to building 1. Take the elevator labeled floor 5 down to floor 1, exit, then walk up the ramp to floor 2.

This is because the AI companies and proponents are operating on FOMO that is keeping them afloat until they can cash out. IMO, it’s the same smoke and mirrors that crypto is made of.
Finding myself doing some lo-fi during breakfast. Guess I’m relaxed. The piped in music helps.

Oh man. There was someone I used to follow on the old bird-site that had a whole portfolio of them they’d post. Wish I was home so I could look through my archive. Will make a note to do so.
Two s-shaped lights fixtures that look like red worms with a bulb at each end.
This VRBO has some weird light fixtures.
The wife’s philosophy on packing: If the suitcase closes on the first try, you still have room to pack more stuff.
Mo Jitos, Mo Problems.
Get yourself a Threat Muddler™️ and it’ll stay in line. Maybe.

I had never heard of shakshuka until an episode of Cutthroat Kitchen on Food Network years ago. Had to try it.
Eat the legs first. It keeps them from hopping away.
Cas (guava variant) smoothie in a pint glass.
Cas smoothie. Refreshing.
A menu for Breaking Bread in the style of Walter White from Breaking Bad.
A small pan with tomato, basil, cheese, and soft-boiled eggs in it. Accompanied by pesto and a smallish loaf of woven Challah with sesame seeds.
At an almost-certain copyright violation-themed breakfast place, but the shakshuka was sooooo good with the pesto and fresh challah.
