Look at the shadows on the pitch. Its a clear blue sky and the sun is directly in his eyes, the ball must have been right or almost directly in the sun. He doesnt realise exactly where the ball is until it lands on his head. Not as bad a mistake as it looks.

Well i hate to state the bleeding obvious here, but this is rich to say the least. Israel have levelled pretty much every hospital in Gaza, and theyve imprisoned and tortured many of the medics too.

Exclusive: David Cameron threatened to withdraw UK from ICC over Israel war crimes probe Former foreign secretary told ICC prosecutor Karim Khan that issuing arrest warrants for Israeli leaders would be like ‘dropping a hydrogen bomb’

This is a huge scandal.

As Foreign Secretary, David Cameron tried to intimidate the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Courts into dropping his Israeli arrest warrants.

A violation of international law - ignored by British news outlets.

It strikes me that the only time when humanity at large will act on climate change, is when the climate breaks down. But at that point, it will be too late. We will continue driving into the wall until we hit the wall and then the car will be broken.

We’re actually in the position where Labour are slashing projects created by the tories. Where Labour are worse than the tories at the environment. Frankly shameful.

Maybe the point is that, he’s talking to the EU on adult terms again, and doing deals- anything. Just normalising. And the reaction from the right wing press shows why tiny steps is important. Bigger deals can come later.

Does the megalomaniac war monger democratic country invader psychopath want peace? Who could possibly say.

Such a lightweight as chief political correspondent. Cannot even hold a candle to his great predecessor. Off to Reform soon no doubt.

international systems of accountability for crimes against humanity established in the wake of the holocaust destroyed at the behest of “the light unto the nations” so that it can do its own genocide. our shame will be eternal.

Labour has a whopping great majority and four years left to turn this country around.

They should be setting the agenda, not chasing about trying to placate voters of a party with five MPs who will never vote for them anyway.

It's not only disappointing... it's embarrassing

Were doomed to watch Starmer trying to beat Reform by trying to become ever more like Reform. Can someone teach the man politics please. Political parties are different, they appeal to different people for different things, and thats a good thing. Not everyone wants to vote Reform.

'Prepare yourselves for a story of breath-taking perversity' This is Piles Copse, the largest remaining fragment of high-ground temperate rainforest on Dartmoor. It’s a tiny speck of green in a dismal, human-made desert. Prepare yourselves for a story of breath...

Here, @westcountryvoices.bsky.social have compiled my thread on the utterly bonkers mismanagement of Dartmoor into an easy-to-read article: westcountryvoices.co.uk/prepare-your...

Extend that then- why don’t all important elements of an ecosystem have rights.

Absolutely this. But will Starmer do it? I just can’t see it. He seems quite at home edging ever further right.

Watching the early news come in from the Australian election. Looks like Labor has it. If it does, it is goodbye to another Trump-lite candidate, Peter Dutton, after Polivier in Canada. UK Labour needs to learn the lesson. Stop kissing right-wing ass.

Terrifying. I’ve noticed this in a different way. You can leave a window open, at night, in a bedroom for eg, with the light on, and when you come back hours later, there are almost no insects in the room. It used to be that the room would fill up with insects. I live in the countryside.

Totally humiliating at this point. Our ex Bank of England governer Carney showing the world how to stand up to Trump while we just kiss ass.
