Superliminal is a real game, actually. You should be able to find it on Steam.

From a Game Master’s perspective, I’m of two minds about it. On the one hand, I’m bummed that they skipped over a puzzle, but on the other hand, they’re progressing faster, which means they’ll be out faster.

I beg you, support artists even when they're not actively releasing new art.

Good things take time and a culture of art that's all about deliverables and not about process, misses the fucking point.

I'll gladly wait as long as it takes for all of Anatomy.

I'd love to be able to write more often, but it's hard when you don't want to bother with the process of brainstorming, outlining, drafting, editing, revising, etc. Likewise when you're still reeling from a lot of life changes.

I've been told many times by other writers that it's the PROCESS that's the funnest part of writing, and while I don't disagree, it's something that I struggle with because of my brain's desire for instant gratification.

Writing is very similar. I've written a lot of BAD stuff in order to get to writing the good stuff, but my brain doesn't want to deal with the anguish of knowingly writing poorly, but also knows that I can't write good write away. So, I simply don't write.

I often get tilted easily when I play competitive video games for the first time, or when trying to learn a new task. 'Why is this so difficult?' I find myself asking, despite the answer being obvious; I'm still learning! Sadly, my brain would rather skip to the end when I'm already a master.

It feels as though my brain is wired for instant gratification rather than the delayed satisfaction (and often prevalent dissatisfaction) of putting together a creative project. Of course, this is not the only area where I've suffered from this problem.

Like, I could open one of my WIPs right now and start working on it, but every time I think of doing that, my brain goes 'why do that when you can watch the same Youtube videos for the umpteenth time?' And I'll be damned if that's not a convincing argument.

I've been thinking lately about the struggle to do creative work as someone with ADHD. I think the biggest problem for me is that I have little to no incentive to make progress on any project I have in the making. 🧵
