The very first frame of that video is probably my favorite. It's just like when I look out of an airplane window. Except instead of seeing tiny streets and houses, trees, lakes, beaches, etc. there's this brown orb in the dark void.

Congrats on the reveal!

it's an Asus VG289Q.
Checking if the light is on is why I reconnected the original cable again, and that's when it worked again :D
The power supply had already died in the past, and I replaced it with the one of my secondary monitor (and got a new power supply for the secondary)

After changing cables and reconnecting everything multiple times (to test out different things as well) it's suddenly working again. Don't quite trust it though. I think it wasn't getting any power, but alternate cables/power supply wouldn't work either. But now it does. I'll keep an eye on it

I definitely prefer printed boarding passes for this exact reason. I don't want an expensive flight to rely on a device with so many potential points of failure. Nor do I want to waste the battery of my "contact other people and/or research in case something goes wrong" device

Oh nice! Maybe I should look into switching over once I have an actual team

Thinking about older games, I'm still amused that I use a Wii U to play Wii U and Wii games, a Wii to play GameCube, a GameCube to play Gameboy advance. (and if my SNES hadnt disappeared during a move, SNES to play Gameboy games)
Backwards compatibility makes weird things happen.

I set up my Playstation 2 again and wow, I do not miss controllers with cables

I'm continually incredulous that we're expected to just keep working and functioning under these conditions, while *gestures at all of that*. And it's been going for years and years like that.

Gah, thank you, you just reminded me I need to renew my passport because of brexit

oh so that's why the videos on books, by a creator I follow, never appeal to me. The titles sound negative and clickbaity, their face is on the thumbnail looking shocked or exhausted or whatnot, and there's a preoccupation with star ratings and reviews.
And like, I just wanted to know what they like

I can see where I was born and most of my family live. I can see where I went to school, where I had major surgeries. Where I had fights with my parents and was teenaged and depressed. Where I went on holiday with dear friends, with my partner.
It's a very small part of the blue marble.

A photograph of Earth seen from space against a black background with faint stars. The visible hemisphere prominently displays the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the large brown landmass of northwestern Africa, and swirling white cloud formations scattered across the globe. A thin, bright blue atmospheric glow traces the top left curve of the planet.

Earth, from Artemis II.

It frustrates me to no end that these AI pushing people forget where seniors come from. They don't just pop into existence out of nowhere. You need juniors doing grunt work if you want seniors who can supervise.

Folks, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW is funding (the early phase of) my game Scramble Quest! I'm so excited that I'm going to be working on this fulltime for a while now.
Made a lil post about it on my website :D

Probably more skills than you think, but definitely not the easiest thing to figure out. I hope things'll work out soon

And heck, something minor for one person can be major to another. Specially something that messes up people's already precarious sleep hygiene

Wouldn't the solution be to work on legislation that combats greed, instead of not working against poverty?

This. Amazing stuff all around. Books, crafts, music, mental peace, a boom in soul-feeding things.
