I teach a finite math class and the number of ways I've seen students interpret questions is amazing. Probability questions are the hardest questions to write!

Unfortunately a lot of that attitude comes from teachers trying to justify education to students. I think sometimes we(teachers) need to be able to admit that learning something is awesome even if it is essentially worthless.

We avoided all the crowds along the resort areas but did stop at Chichen itza. Amazing but overwhelming with all the tourists and vendors after a week of quiet and bird song.

Hanging out at the airport on the way back from a week of birding in the Yucatan Peninsula. An amazing place with amazing birds, history and people. Highlight was spend time with Angel Castillo at the Xocen Birding trail, a Mayan co-op for ecotourism.
