Been a Fragmented listener since before I got my first dev job. Surreal to now be joining @kau.sh as co-host for this new Al focused season!
Looking forward to getting into the ins and outs of Al coding! What actually works, what doesn't, and how to think about all of it.
Let's do this! 🎙️🤘
One of the most fascinating reads about the history of a software product I've ever read. Grab a copy if you haven't read it yet. You also get Chet Jokes as a bonus!
And if you have read it, pick up "Show-stopper! The Breakneck Race to Create Windows NT and the Next Generation at Microsoft"
This is so fucking funny dude.
Probably not impossible on other platforms, even on native, but definitely not as straightforward. We'll investigate some of the possibilities, and would love Google to pick up the Android part. No promises though.
It requires some way of injecting and reloading code at runtime - generally that's easier if you're working in a virtual machine like the JVM. And it's even easier if that's JetBrains Runtime which has DCEVM as a superpower to reload almost anything.
So wird der Abstieg der Industrie nur weiter befördert. Wir müssen auf einen Zukunftspfad.
fake papers, fake peer reviews, even fake affiliations. "An investigation by EL PAÍS revealed in 2023 that Saudi Arabia offered bribes of up to €70,000 ($81,000) a year to highly-cited scientists to falsify their affiliations"

One question would be how much more effective than gzip compression this would be 🤔
So. Remember when Valve announced a VR headset that also plays Windows games?
Remember when I played a Windows copy of Silksong on my Android phone?
Valve planted the seeds for *all* of that. It's the same technology. Valve is behind Fex. www.theverge.com/report/82065...

Love it!
A map of Europe titled “High-speed rail plan” showing future high-speed train connections and travel times. Green lines represent future new connections, and magenta lines represent future train travel times. Major cities are marked with circles and connected by these lines. Examples of travel times include: Lisbon–Madrid (3h), Paris–Brussels (1h15), Paris–Rome (6h), Berlin–Warsaw (4h15), Berlin–Prague (2h30), Berlin–Vienna (4h30), Berlin–Budapest (6h15), Berlin–Stockholm (4h), Riga–Tallinn (1h45), Vilnius–Riga (2h), Sofia–Athens (6h). The map includes the EC logo in the bottom right corner.
We’re launching a bold plan to make high-speed rail the fastest, more sustainable way to travel across Europe by 2040.
It’s a concrete timeline to remove bottlenecks, unlock investment, and harmonise rail systems ⬇️
