Anyway, I might not be online much this week, staring at screens and sitting at the computer doesn't feel great atm. Still need to get through tomorrow's final exam for one of my courses.

I had a really bad migraine on Monday and I'm still kinda out of it tbh. I don't get migraines often (maybe once a year if even that), but this time I didn't even realise I was having a migraine until I got home and my wife realised what was up, and by then it was so bad nothing was really helping.

I keep seeing "all authors use AI, the real issue is they're being forced to be sneaky about it" headlines.

Full stop No. This is a lie peddled for normalization. It's schoolyard-level pressure tactics "C'mon, all the cool kids are already doing it. We won't tell. It's fine. We're on your side."

I just said this to a friend, but I want all artists to know this:

"Your art will always be good. It's not slop! It's made with love and care. That speaks volumes! Doesn't matter if it's not "professional" quality. What matters is that you made it. That's what makes it really good."

Right?? It's like half the vocabulary in my brain switches off when I need to speak, and then once I'm left alone I can whip up an essay in this language no problem. The struggle is so real 😂

I love making characters with features that aren't seen as conventionally attractive for the Eurocentric Masses and then making the character so scorching hot it rivals the surface of the sun. Arai, I love your nose so much

In my experience it's right at the cusp of reaching fluency and you just have to awkwardly struggle through it for x amount of time. Once you get past it your skill level starts to improve explosively, but first you gotta get past the "why do I write like an adult but speak like a toddler" stage.

Being somewhere on the B1/B2 skill level in a foreign language is the most frustrating stage imho. You understand almost everything you hear and can absorb new words from context easily, but still struggle to speak even though you can perfectly construct sentences in your head already.
