Extraordinary to think that had Tom Curry, Liam Williams, etc not been quite so god awful in that final test in 2021, Finn Russell could be three years away from recording back, to back, to back British & Irish Lions series victories at Ten.

My mid-season prediction appears to be looming ominously over Cardiff’s end of season run out. They’re now in seventh place. Four points ahead of Munster, who are in ninth, and two points ahead of Connacht, who are in eighth. The one saving grace may be that those Ire teams still need to face off.
No rest for Kinghorn either, as he follows his Lions, 6N, and then European Cup QF exploits, with a start tonight versus Castres. Will be a physical game tonight away to the Castres boys, who are themselves smarting from their loss to Saints.
When you order Glasgow on Temu
George Turner starts at Hooker today for Quins, against Finn Russell’s Bath. Struggled for form & fitness upon his return from Japan. But grew back into both during the 6N. Won’t displace Quins fan favourites - but still a force of nature when on it.
Not even a BP is poor.
Are Glasgow now an Edinburgh tribute act?
Home BP inside forty. Not good.
I expected rotation. I expected a fast start from the Home side. I expected so many young players to struggle to find their feet. I even expected some hangover from the HC disappointment. But I’m just not sure I expected ‘this’…
For any Scotland (Glasgow?) supporter tracking him, Tom Jordan continues to shine in the Prem. He’s everywhere when Bristol play. Clearly loving the defence optional style, but hard not to conclude Glasgow could have used his presence vs likes of Toulon. What say you, Agent Nucifora…?
Zebre have won two games all season. Edinburgh have just scraped through against them, at home, in the dying minutes. I simply cannot understand the SRU thought process that led them to that extension in post.
Big. Bad. Boan!
There are players within that Edinburgh setup who are clearly being under utilised, if not even outright professionally diminished, due to being coached by the Everitt setup. However, there are others who I simply don’t feel are at this level, which clearly doesn’t help the squad compete at all.
Not one single Edinburgh supporter was sat watching & didn’t feel that was coming.
Shouldn’t be this nervy, this late. Self inflicted by Edinburgh - yet again.
But, of course, he also then does wildly ruinous stuff like needlessly high shots too…🙄🤦
He takes far too much flak for an occasional missed dart. But there’s no faulting Ashman’s heart in an Edinburgh, or Scotland jersey. He’s the type of Hooker (better?) Head Coaches would build championship winning teams around.
Edinburgh could use a lively Scott here.
It’s not good. He’s been an absolute rock for Edinburgh, even when many of the rest have struggled.
Brace: “Don’t swing, don’t swing.”
Leinster player swings around and makes a mess of Ulster moving the ball away.
Brace:
Three first half tries is good. Other aspects are not. It’s been a very frustrating season for Edinburgh, again.
To add, of the two teams playing today, despite the victory Bath are likely to have more opportunity against UBB. Both teams will go wide-wide & errors may well decide who progresses further. Whereas I firmly suspect Toulouse would have simply run over Bath with their tip-on phases & execution.
Two very costly moments of stupidity have likely cost Toulouse a Semifinal spot - and on current form, another European Star too. First, a sickeningly deliberate shoulder to head by Aldegheri that deserved a full Red Card. Then Dupont’s impudent trip to really nail the lid down shut. Madness.

She’s absolutely nails!
BBC coverage of a Wales vs Scotland Women’s game has once again been little short of fan commentary in favour of Wales, with the occasional begrudging reference to Scotland. It’s well beyond time that broadcaster reconsidered how it staffs personnel for that fixture. The bias is quite off-putting.
Pleasant surprise too given several big stars retired post-World Cup, and now injuries to 5/6 other key players too. You know what depth is like in women’s game. You lose those 5/6 & suddenly you’re calling up uncapped teenage club players. So it’s nice to see them get the result regardless.
For those who saw the game, keen to hear your (hot?) takes…
Going to miss the Glasgow game. Hope you go well, Weeg!
I cannot work out the line out issues at all. They have callers who were seemingly reliable elsewhere with other teams. It’s really starting to hurt Bath’s chances of victory, as teams grow in confidence, or simply don’t feel the pressure even five out.
