It's not hard for me to imagine that many if not all of the best scientific "holy grails" might be practically irreducible shoggoths, because after all, reducing nature into physical laws is only done out of necessity. If it's no longer necessary, where does Science go on that Venn Diagram of yours?
Imagine a possible near future large weather model, which can predict weather with near 100% accuracy for three days in advance. That's a holy grail for Meteorology, but with the catch that none can drink from it. This line of thinking is the true source of a lot of expert panic on AI
Too easy to imagine an end to art, photography, even engineering or software engineering, but what about Science? What are scientists left to do when all their best formulations end up hard shoggothed by computer science brats?

sloppers leave a lot of evidence behind and their danger to themselves and others largely arises out of negligence and ignorance, while the old threat remains much the same
*Are slop cyberwarriors even housed in the same barracks as the old-school zero-day command-line hacker cyberwarriors
*Also, which militant group is more menacing to the well-being of innocent civilians
*Hackers can hack, and sloppers can slop, but when sloppers try to hack the slop, are they hacking the slop, or are they just slopping the slop
"prompt engineering" is now understood to be a scam, because it was buying into the masquerade of meaningfully conversational AI. "context engineering" is slightly less silly idea of utilizing the full context window all at once, but I noticed its proponents still have superstitious weird ideas

Every night at every microbrewery across the nation the Fungible Grateful Dead cover band plays, and I blame dystopian scifi writers
That's why it's a somewhat interesting question for a novel to answer, because it just can't be answered.

vaping? give me a break. what a shame he didn't also predict the battlefields draped with fiber optics from fpv drones. can't win them all
Video's pretty much spot on. But man, even I know that giving over design-level decisions to AI is wild over optimism. I'm still in 2023, copy pasting code snippets and using the LLM to translate pseudocode because I've never been great with syntax or formality. Haven't been burned too bad yet
Fuck you, you don't deserve a time cube
This heat dome was caused by Elon Musk igniting all that rocket fuel. That heat has to go somewhere, man
