But I made them interesting by literally resetting them to caveman level intelligence to give them a proper challenge

A Mary she is just someone who faces no challenge and they are generally “very good at everything” not necessarily a ‘perfect’ or strong character

Mary sues generally describe a character who cannot be challenged whatsoever and they never experience any difficulty when they do tasks

Basically just someone where everything goes so right that they become boring

My Mary sue character DOES still exist and I can still use them —

Anytime I try to make an OC have a good trait I worry that I’m Mary sue’ing them , so I usually go with weaker characters and I often give OC’s too MANY flaws

I’ve been trying to stop that but it’s been pretty difficult —
