That's a thing I love about boardgames, they're always trying to streamline as a major principle and definitely ttrpg devs should make sure to do the same for rules-lite games. I've seen way too many where it's just a reskinning of frameworks that appeals to gamers without taking into account others

No X trick can save a boring game. Word-of-mouth from excited players always beats the algorithm.

1️⃣ Hook tweet + native GIF
2️⃣ 2–4 tweets of cool mechanics or funny fails
3️⃣ Final tweet: Steam/YouTube link

Engagement on early tweets pushes the whole thread.

✅ 10. Links? Post Them Smart
Never put YouTube/Steam links in the main tweet. Post a GIF first, reply to yourself with the link, & write: “🔽 Link in the first comment.” or something like that.

✅ 9. Don’t Sell Too Soon
Under 500-1000k followers? Stop spamming “wishlist now.” Share progress, fails & insights first. People support devs they feel connected to!

✅ 8. Best Times to Post
6 PM–9 PM CET/CEST (that’s 9 AM–12 PM PDT in summer, or 10 AM–1 PM PST in winter) on Sun, Mon & Wed hits EU evenings + US mornings. Test other times, but this window works for most indie devs.

✅ 7. No Hashtag Spam
One to two hashtag max. Too many gets you deboosted or shadowbanned. X search already indexes plain words, so stop tagging every noun.

✅ 6. Use Visuals & GIFs
Plain text dies in feeds.
GIFs autoplay & grab attention.
Threads with one GIF/screenshot per tweet keep people scrolling = more reach!

Players follow people, not logos.
Tell stories, share struggles, post funny bugs. Build connection first, and they might wishlist because they like you.
(I got more for you on the last point of this thread if you're not an extrovert)

✅ 4. Post Daily
1–3 posts/day. Share GIFs, fails, or quick updates.
And don’t overthink it, players love the human side of development. Random posting times can even help.

✅ 3. Be First in Comments
Reply to big accounts fast. Early replies stay pinned at the top & get seen by thousands (if you have premium lol).
Add value or humor, not “cool!”... and people will check your profile.

✅ 2. Follow at least 200+ People in Your Niche
Dev peers, reviewers, players. But don’t lurk! Reply, ask questions, share tips. Every thoughtful comment plants a seed for followers & wishlists.

✅ 1. Get X Premium
Like it or not, verified accounts dominate feeds & replies. Think of it as paying for a better booth at a convention! Great games still need visibility first.
