We live by the railway line in Brisbane that is used to take coal from a Queensland mine to the port. Usually there are a handful of coal trains each day. The last few days there have been at least one every hour, because Trump's war is spiking the price. The mine must be working double overtime.

I don't normally like quoting Spiked but this article predicted that Australian style protection rackets and violence would come to the UK: www.spiked-online.com/2025/10/19/a...
In Australia, Vape shops are regularly firebombed. There's a huge organised crime problem with that industry here. Presume it may also be the case in the UK.

Vape shops here in Australia are regularly firebombed because there is so much organised crime associated with the tobacco and vape industry. I'm assuming that it's probably very similar in the UK.

Listening to A Grand Don't Come For Free. It's still magic but I don't really understand why if a girl plays with her hair it means she's Robbie Keane.
Seeing Shamima Begum's name referenced in Australian news stories is a grim reminder that lots of the UK population feel that if a child is groomed by adults, trafficked by adults, safe-housed by adults and finally given to an adult specifically so he can fuck a child, it's the child's fault.
I saw a Gary Numan interview on one of those BBC documentaries about musical eras, when he talked about first hearing synths. IIRC He said how big it sounded to him... far bigger than guitars.

Just for fun: Varsity Lakes to Gympie North, 261km, almost 5 hours with one change of train. 50 cents:
The public transport where I now live is 25p flat rate regardless of distance. I might just hang on here to be honest.

Annual season ticket quote from the national rail site for Deal to London St Pancras. £7220
Chatting with Australians about the cost of UK public transport, and they can't even comprehend that this could be real (Deal to London annual season ticket: £7220).
From BBC news: Sean Coughlan Royal correspondent This is another extraordinary development in what has been an extraordinary story. It’s hard to think of any precedent for the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the King’s brother.
I'm pretty sure George Plantagenet would disagree
She is not THE health ambassador for Wales. She's a local campaigner for a group focused on ensuring girls have better knowledge of health matters like menstrual health, endometriosis, cervical and breast cancer screening.
People are so fucking gullible when they read fashy shit on the internet.
Thank you. I'm busy exporting all my notes now. $250 is bonkers - treble what it was in 2024.
Bloody hell, Evernote. No it won't.
Okay champ. You're the one regurgitating lies that you've been fed.
Not in the slightest. He annoys the shit out of me. But the spin about online post arrests is just horseshit and distracts from genuinely authoritarian stuff they're doing.
It's mindboggling the way you lot talk about "online comments" when the vast majority of those arrests are for fraud, threats of violence, non-consensual sexual content, revenge porn, and stalking.
Me after hearing the latest excuses for VAR being an inaccurate crock of shit.
Apparently I'm not being helpful with my daughter's English Language workbook when I define "bard" as "something a sheep did"
Hah, I see what you did there.
New trick to mitigate the stress and tension of watching a penalty shootout: Sit in row A, seat 99 at Adams Park. Sorted.
They'd be even more expensive without renewables in the mix.
