And now Idaho just passed a bill that could put me in prison for years—for washing my hands in a bathroom.
Trans people can now get life in prison for going to the bathroom in Idaho.

This is inspired by the responses to the ST finale, but also OFMD, Supernatural, etc. Listen, I love a happy ending! I want my favorite characters to thrive! And there are many choices in those I disagree with. But it's not inherently "problematic" to give a character a complicated or tragic ending.
So many modern fandoms seem to believe that characters who have experienced suffering are owed a happy/comfortable ending, and it's morally repugnant if they don't get one. I think this is anti-art! I don't agree that it's the responsibility of fiction to make sure everyone gets what they deserve.
