Yeah those are pretty much the only ones I could think of too, outside of some arcade ones.
Maybe devs played Wave Race and just thought "Gah, there's no point even *trying* to top that", haha

Ah thanks, I'm trying to finish more games this year and keeping a record on here helps keep me on track!
Haha. Out of curiosity, what would you say is the *second* best water-based racer? I really can't think what I'd choose as the next best thing!
Such a brilliant series. The most recent series (5 I think) was fantastic too
6: Wave Race 64
A bit too short, a bit too easy, a bit too damn good. So good it’s yet to be beaten 30 years later.
A masterpiece of physics-based gameplay and a genuine genre classic that hasn’t aged a day [9]
5: Mario Kart World
The open world's a bit undercooked (meaning lots of potential for future content), and there aren’t as many tracks as MK8D (which isn’t really a fair comparison), but the controls and gameplay are as good as it gets, and Knockout Tour is fantastic.

😂
I think you're right. MK8D is pretty much the perfect Mario Kart in terms of playability and content, but it took almost a decade to get to that point.
The open world in World is slightly underwhelming, but it allows for the brilliant Knockout Tour and offers SO much opportunity for future content!
Haha, it doesn’t have the sheer amount of content MK8 Deluxe had, but that game was added to for years and years so the comparison isn’t really fair. I think the gameplay, controls and tracks (and visuals) are brilliant though
Well who could have guessed, turns out Mario Kart World is excellent 🤷♂️
I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. I think the tracks can be a little too wide/expansive at times, but I love how elaborate and detailed they can get. And the controls are brilliant as you'd expect.
If MK8D is anything to go by then they should add a boatload of new content for you to come back to!
I’ve got some fun memories of playing Phantasmagoria when I was WAY too young to be doing so!

A little late to the party, but it’s finally time to give this one a go!
The most incredible thing about this image is the sheer amount of my favourite Amiga games that *aren’t* on it!
(Speedball is my favourite from these)
😂 This one more up to your standards?
Photographs don’t get much better than this
Not usually my kind of game aside from a couple of exceptions, but I really enjoyed it.
I thought Bayonetta 2 was even better. It’s just relentlessly bonkers from minute 1
Haha. I’m actually considering the Res 3 remake after. I have it on Steam from *somewhere*, but I’ve never actually played it before
I’m not sure if I saw it when it first came out and can’t remember much of it, or if I’ve never actually seen it 😅
My Bank Holiday Playlist
Haha, I'll bear that it mind!
The last show I watched was The Leftovers, which I loved, and which coincidentally you posted about not long after. So I trust your judgement!
I've never even heard of this. I'm looking for a new show to start so might check it out!
I've been playing Requiem on and off for the last couple of weeks and I'm really enjoying it. Usually once I get to around 10 hours in a game I'm ready for it to be done.. But I'm about that far into Requiem and I don't want it to end 😅
Yeah that run between PES 2 and PES 6 was incredible. I dread to think the amount of hours I put into those! 😅
Oh there were definitely some good ones, and I do actually remember that pass system now you mention it! The thing for me that FIFA has never quite been able to capture as well as PES is the randomness and sometimes chaotic nature of football. It always feels more rigid in comparison I feel
The start of the golden age of football games
This is one of my absolute favourite magazine covers. Beautiful art for an incredible game.
