We lost a very senior cat to oral cancer. She had several other illnesses but was able to live three yrs after her diagnosis. When she lost interest in food we knew it was time to let her go. It is hard to lose them.

My husband’s 80+ yr old aunt sent him a birthday card every year with $2 enclosed.

I’m a lapsed cradle Catholic with 8 yrs of Catholic school to my credit. My mother converted a few yrs after she married my Catholic dad. I don’t know what Vance thinks he is but he’s not a Catholic.

A friend and her husband were both PE majors in college and driver’s ed minors. Driving with either of them is a challenge because you’re bound to get a driving lesson.

Yosemite is my husband’s favorite place.

Our current dog was surrendered to the shelter. He was 11, malnourished and had to have most teeth removed. Our previous rescue was 3, had serious health issues and wasn’t wanted by his family anymore. I just can’t imagine how they felt when their family turned around and walked away from them.

I’m a member of a group of people wanting to relocate to the UK. Some go through Ireland because it’s a little less difficult with pets. There are many companies who will transport their pet but it’s very expensive. When I was overseas for a year my cat lived at my mother’s.

Years ago we had a 20+ yr old cat we rescued. We had to have all of her teeth removed(most probably fell out easily) and she ate a prescription diet pate food. Even though she had feline leukemia, hyperthyroidism and eventually cancer she lived 3 more years.

My dog had 14 teeth pulled after the Humane Society rescued him. He had 2 more removed in January. He eats canned food and doesn’t leave a scrap.

One of my uncles was an alcoholic. My brother and I spent a week with his family when I was 10. I was standing in front of the refrigerator one morning while my aunt made breakfast. My uncle asked me to move because “you’re standing between me and my martinis” which were on a shelf in the fridge.

Our pup’s last night with us she had her own Costco hotdog. Previously she’d shared one with my husband. But this night they both had their own and ate it together. Our dog died in Sept ‘06 and she is remembered every day. I’m so very sorry for your loss. It is so terribly hard to lose them. 😿

The father of a friend came to the US from Italy when he was a young man. In his 80s he reverted to speaking more Italian than English. Growing up she and her brother had refused to respond when their parents spoke Italian. She regretted it because as he aged it was hard for them to communicate.
