Alright I did it. Made it for 2 Line bridge crossing and Judkins and back in time for No King Day March.
I must have bad luck I’m only seeing them on the old Trains
The pilot ones were super nice and frankly just look nicer and more modern. I think it will help some less frequent transit riders (Suburbs) see things as more fancy as well. Sound Transit also released a whole list of how their better in general
For pedestrians and higher value cars (So avoid nice looking cars)
It’s also again under stated how much input driving requires on your brain and the faster the speed limit or open the road the more input your taking in and not noticing bikes or walkers
There is research that shows people who drive more recklessly tend to have less activation in the parts of the brain linked to empathy. The list goes on. It’s really understated how much you disconnect when in a car. It’s very much like how some act online. There is also a link between not stopping
It creates a large disconnect between the world and the driver. Some can break that more if they're used to walking a lot in urban spaces but even then it happens.
Several studies have shown evidence that when driving drivers start to view humans as obstacles rather than humans living their lives

Ya to be fair my closest encounter I’m honestly not 100% positive they were homeless. Some Housed men will often treat women far worse regarding cat calling because and they think their entitled to it it’s wild

Yup I’ve almost been hit several times in my life at least 15 as someone who doesn’t drive and follows the cross walk rules like a religion. I think I’ve only been threatened by “Homeless” like 3 times. And that 15 I’m low balling I’ll say those were “I could have been killed” examples not just hit.
I’ve heard the uncanny Valley comment from several people now so it seems to be a common opinion at this point. I just heard it today and it was certainly a bit odd.
I feel like Katie is more like me. A light fan out of city pride but not every reference is a sports reference.
Also the Sonics fake out just showed how out of touch Bruce was to think anyone would find that fun or funny or anything.
Honestly the reactions are wild. I just turned 30. I didn’t start caring about sports till 28? 29? And only do now out of city pride and unity. Erica nothing you said was wrong. Bruce did make Football his personality (And ironically cock teased Basketball fans like a jerk)
It was an issue I and a few others tried to call a lot of attention to. That action alone made me find it hard to ever see Joy as pro housing.
For the record Tree Action Seattle truly are some of the worst people. If you love trees cool so do I. But don’t lie that Multifamily housing is what’s killing Orcas. It’s just a weak appealing to feelings. A claim like that will need major citations they don’t actually have.
