I’m sure it’s extremely difficult but if there was any justice you and Neal Stephenson would each have several books in production. There’s so many bad and mediocre SF films and very few good ones, yet we have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to SF books.

When I was younger I felt it was important to explore other planets. Then at a certain point I realized that all the tech they are developing to live in a hostile environment will really just be what we need on earth to survive period on this planet in the near future, which is pretty depressing.

Wait a minute. Is everything that’s happening in the US the most elaborate application of “The Wave” experiment ever staged? If so, can we just stop now? #thewave #wefailedthetest #elaboratehoax #politicalsingularity

But he forgot to wash out the needle and it still had some dinosaur DNA in it. Jesus Rex is born. And he’s pissed about the state of the world.

Highest level of fuckup that we know about. I’m certain there’s far worse fuckups happening that have not been discovered.

This! I have not heard very many people tackling this point. Horrifying. Also a bit too much necrophilia. Gross.

Yes. He also looked like Dr. Robotnik and sounded like he was imitating Nandor from what we do in the shadows.

Total coward.

Yes. The “idiocracy is a gross over simplification “ thing doesn’t hold any more.

Not really a betrayal if he telegraphed in advance pretty clearly that he was going to f* you. How anyone can be surprised by his behavior is just mind boggling.

Should we be angry at how the Biden admin handled Gaza? Absolutely. Was anyone ever for even one second wondering if Trump could do better? No. Not even a little bit.

Talk about deflection! Do the Dems bear some of the blame? Sure. But millions of people sat this out or voted third for lame holier than thou “perfect candidate” reasons knowing it would win Trump the White House and I will always blame them far more.

But their third party vote was *so* integrity driven! Surely that counts for something right !??

I’m not mad. But my view is not that they’re doing nothing, it’s just that they’re playing a polite game of chess against an aggressive, amoral player of checkers and losing every game.

When a family member or a friend is an active addict you can’t enable them and that sometimes means cutting them off. But when they are ready to get clean you have to take them back without judgement.

How utterly surprising.

I’m going to be honest, his predilection for alcohol is not high on my list of his concerning attributes. I’d give him a pass on that one if not for you know, the rape and lack of any ethics whatsoever.

I hope they don’t. I drink coffee but willing to take the hit so the other 49% are angered at current admin first thing every morning.

Not trying to be critical towards anyone here so please take that into account, but the replies to this post are a perfect example of why it is hard to disseminate accurate information on social media. The replies of the historians he directed this question to is drowned out by a lot of opinions.

Lame. Embracing AI in the arts is the same as voting against your self interests. And it’s absolutely terrible for an already crumbling planet.

I was being a touch facetious, but in truth I’m no longer surprised people vote against their own self preservation.

I don’t even understand that first statement. It never occurred to me that members of the LGBTQ+ community would do so.

Chaotic Good is the best alignment. A friend of mine uses that as his ASCAP publishing name and I was like dang I wish I thought of that. 🤣

Yes it’s scarily prescient to our current situation. I’m always amazed that I don’t hear anyone mentioning that the slogan “make America great again” factors into this novel.
