I am waiting for the indie renaissance of this style of PC Engine CD/Sega CD game that immediately predates FMV, where fully cel-animated cutscenes are traced over frame by frame with pixel art drawn in real time

Conservatives very specifically endorse a version of medical freedom which includes vaccine refusal but excludes choosing to take cross-sex hormones
I live in New York City. I haven’t owned a car since 2007.
Your move, pal.
Yes. Good peopl work at Target. Good people woto at Sabra.
But that wasn’t your original point either, now was it.
If not buyIng a product is too far a line for you to cross, you simply have to line to speak of.
If you won’t take a stand on something as simple as not buying a new videogame console— a console that can be replicated a dozen different ways, mind you, and one where the original version can easily be found on eBay,— where exactly will you make your stand?
... I'm sorry, but John Szczepaniak sounds like the folks who shout down trans people when we say "Hey you shouldn't buy Harry Potter shit because the creator's using their profits to eradicate trans folks"
Not buying a toy because the dude behind it is abhorrent is the lowest possible bar to clear
it’s a great day for transphobes to eat shit
The Montreal Screwjob was a work between Vince and Bret with an eye toward bringing Bret back hot as hell after his WCW run was over but Owen died in the ring and both realized they now *had* to keep their mouths shut.
The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

Looking for a good small portable LCD for diagnostic purposes but everything I see are clearly 17 inch regular-ass monitors with the stand removed
He'll be back in like six months and immediately challenge for one of the world belts like nothing ever happened. He's got one of the weirdest credibility levels in professional wrestling history; nothing ever really sticks to him.
User dratsab huffman asks the question: To amuse myself i researched revacholian nationalism as well as measure head's race theories etc etc and focused my character on "traditionalism". Anyway, ive noticed that if i ever click dialogue options that are in tune with my character's political compass, i lose morale. Whats the point of having this as a mechanic if its going to be so detrimental and feels like the character doesnt believe he actually is this or something... is there anyway to overcome that kind of morale loss?
Recalcitrant Jester replies: Being a fascist is a deeply demoralizing experience. You have to not only radically alter your worldview to make reality fit into your unhinged schema, but that worldview is predicated on the notion that the weakest, most unworthy degenerate worms on the planet are somehow overpowering and humiliating you on a moment-by-moment basis. In mechanical terms too, the lowered morale also reduces your volition score—the more you indulge in your delusions, the less you are able to exercise self-control and self-awareness. The point of fascism being mechanically detrimental—the ludonarrative theme—is that fascism is an unequivocally self-destructive ideology, the practice of which only serves to nurture that self-destructive urge and turn it outward. It's not like Dark Side points in KotOR where you can access cool new abilities and get to enjoy being such a nasty lil rascal; you are not supposed to enjoy being a fascist in Disco Elysium. Fascism is the act of self-deception in service of making your own life more painful, solely for the payoff of making life more painful for people you dislike.

The vast majority of people who spend all their time being big mad at Hasan Piker agree with him on nearly every issue.
I mean you look at this and you get why ancient man invented religion.
It's a shame. I would have bought the stupid thing on general principal. I don't even like Neo Geo *that* much.
Anyway the entire library is 100% compatible through both emulation and FPGA and have been for decades. I know that's not the point, but still. You have options.
SNES/MD and the Neo Geo are just in different markets. Always were, always will be. The Neo Geo was for rich kids and the AES+ lets Gen-X gamers live out their rich kid dreams-- provided they're willing to directly fund the House of Saud.
You can buy a Genesis off Ebay for $80. Even the nice Model 1 only costs around $100. SNES about the same depending on how much yellowing you want to go along with it. Hook them up to a Retrotink, you're good to go.
A working AES? Six hundred bucks, at least. And that's without the sticks.
I see a lot of retro channels imploring Nintendo and Sega to do something similar and... yeah, I don't know about that. This is not the market a "real" company would be in; the AES+ is clearly targeted to milk the extant nice audience of a console that itself was extremely niche 35 years ago.
I'm still not convinced this thing will work, mind you. Or if recreating the Neo Geo chipset in a brand new ASIC package is better than using existing FPGA solutions. Or if ultimately it's not just some variety of emulator running on an SoC.
And it's a shame because this is the most For The Sickos produc the retro gaming community has seen since.. maybe ever. Only thing I can think of on the same level is the Retrotink 5k and there's a compelling usecase for Retrotink products.
But I wish you wouldn't and if you did I'd have a little less respect for you.
And look, I get it man, I understand why you'd compromise your principals for this thing, in theory it's a completely functional AES at a fraction of the cost, even if you never bought any of the games and that white wireless arcade stick is disgustingly beautiful.
I've had a while to think about this and I so badly wish it were possible for me to separate art from artist in this regard because it's such a fascinating project in both execution and concept but at the end of the day you're still giving money to MbS.
Longest, or loudest, or rude enough to turn off the other person from the prospect of "debating" them entirely.
Someone-- presumably Lena Dunham-- in a lavender sweater along with text from the author--presumably Rachel Simon-- saying that we owe Lena Dunham an apology. Personally I'd seek an apology for whoever knitted that sweater; she has nice sweater money at the very least
Counterpoint: No I don't
Like... I'm sorry, but to win future elections, you need a good chunk of the people who sat out in 2016 or 2024 to vote for you, and I just don't think that sneering at them and saying it's their fault that things are the way they are right now is going to win them over, even if you truly believe it
Threads always surprises me with how popular it is among the sort of people who would never post on X or bsky. It's there but I've never looked into seeing if it had a strong retro or wrestling community and I'm not sure if I'd want to go there even if it did.
