Well. Too many dropped points. Too many injuries. Too many actively bad special teams. The reasons the #ALLCAPS missed the playoffs are plenty, but I also think they're fixable.

*If* Ovechkin does come back next season, he cannot be on the first PP unit. That decision alone probably cost us 3-4 pts

I damn near lost it during the final minute. I wasn't expecting to be as emotional as I was. Real nice touch by the #Pens to let that game just wind down also. Classy act by Crosby, Gino, Letang etc etc.

I don't think Washington makes the playoffs, but let's be honest. Last night wasn't about that.

If Ovechkin does bow out at the end of the season, a home win against your biggest rivals in your final home game isn't a bad way to go.

As of right now it's shot up to fifty. If my captain matches Bruno (or gets close) and the rest of our FHs line up then it'll be about 30-35.

I bet against Bruno last night, and I think it's cost me my season. My ML rival didn't get fancy and he's only expanded his lead over me.

I need a Cole Palmer Vs Brighton level performance from my 'differential captain' that frankly, I'm not sure I believe he can deliver.

I honestly don't think the starting 11 is *that* bad.

Which means it's effort, preparation, coaching and mentality. They're so fragile.

Even in the season they went straight back up, the second a team punched them in the mouth they struggled.

I don't think I've watched a Caps game that they've won since like mid-January.

At this point you'd be better off putting a cardboard cut-out of 2008/09 Ovi out there on the PP over the 2025/26 iteration of the man.

Credit where it's due. It's obvious that this season hasn't gone to plan for Washington. There's lots of reasons for that of course, but I appreciate that the front office are being active in trying to build forward without desperately trying to overreach for a PO spot we aren't going to get.
