it's also "just" an extremely well made medical procedural for the most part. There's a mini-arc later in season 1 that I think is some of the best television ever made, but on the whole it shares a lot of bones with the shlockier med dramas you may have seen in the past

certain characters are very quippy, and the dialogue gets a little forced when they touch on a soapbox issue, but on the whole it's very natural dialogue
