Chapter 12 edited. Chapter 13 started. Maybe now that I have a new laptop and I'm settled in at work I can get back on a routine again.

Computer boots, but explorer fails to initiate. Restarting windows explorer just crashes the system. None of the measures to get to safe mode for repairs work. So, looks like new laptop and then a harddrive dock to pull data.

Thank god my writings are all on backup drives.

Fun....

Had a solid day of editing. Chapter 11 is coming along nicely.

I didn't expect to do today: move stuff around on my laptop as it reset my saving drive location to the system drive rather than the storage. My Office software thought my files were corrupt because it didn't have temp file space. I hate updates that tinker with your settings.

Remember, in writing, there isn't an idea person. Ideas hold no value without execution. No writer will take an even split for handling the bulk of the work.

Chapter Six has been revamped. Chapter 7 has been started. Progress.

Got over halfway through the Chapter 6 revisions. Its back to work tomorrow, but I'm hoping to keep up the pace.

Through 5 chapters of the book revamp. Chapter 6 started. Hoping to keep up a solid pace since only certain aspects need overhauls. The rest of it is cleaning up the text.
I still have an entire subplot to remove, but I've got a few chapters before that becomes a thing.

After some downtime, the rewrite is in full swing. 5 chapters down.

My rewrite of the first few chapters is going slow but its coming together. After this I need to go through and edit out a subplot that at the time seemed neat but on reflection and feedback, comes off a bit off.

The new version of Chapter 1 is written. Now on to Chapter 2.

I came here to network with authors. What I've gotten is a bunch of fake accounts trying desperately to scam me into buying false marketing.

Part of making dialogue good is knowing how to let it be messy without it feeling forced. Years of screenwriting taught me that, and its one of the hardest things to get right in any medium.
