As Passover begins — a time to acknowledge struggle, courage, and community — we want to recognise the profession of social work that does so much, so often unseen.
Chag Pesach Sameach to everyone celebrating the spring festival of Passover. We wish you a holiday filled with joy, renewal and peace.
This will enable quicker case resolution where both parties agree on the facts, impairment and the appropriate sanction.
To support the introduction of the process, we have published comprehensive guidance, clear process maps, and a simplified version of the guidance to improve accessibility.
The guidance sets out the full process, from initial application to final decision.
It explains: eligibility requirements steps involved roles and responsibilities what happens if proposals are accepted or rejected by the adjudicators.
Social Work England announces new guidance on adjudicator consensual disposal process in fitness to practise cases.
Today we published new guidance to support the introduction of our adjudicator consensual disposal process.
The new process applies to cases that have reached the final hearing stage.
In suitable cases, Social Work England and social workers will be able to reach an agreed outcome without the need for a full final hearing, subject to the adjudicator’s agreement.
Following a recent consultation, we've now published new guidance on adjudicator consensual disposal processes in fitness to practise cases.

In the latest phase of our Change the Script campaign, we worked with Turner Prize-winning artist and former social worker, Helen Cammock, to create a series of thought-provoking plaques to mark the locations where people might not know that social work happens.
An image of a person smiling at the camera. Text: I wish people knew that as a profession, social workers are highly trained and skilled, just like our medical colleagues are. - Shafiq, senior social worker at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre. Change The Script logo
Social work is often misunderstood and misrepresented. We want to bust the myths that people may have about social work.
To be a registered social worker, people must have qualified from a higher education or training course that we have approved. https://ow.ly/Zcu950YwJ2j
Thank you to everyone who shared insight, challenge and enthusiasm for the future of the profession.
