I sometimes wonder if the guys who wrote that satirical article mocking “political correctness,” a term they largely made up for the joke, ever really face the horror they unintentionally released.

Every day I encounter afresh how unnecessary most human suffering is, how much can be prevented by basic decency and baseline competence.

And encounter afresh how much worse even the worst of this is made by the daily emotional terrorism of a supremacist leader and his morally vacant enablers.

These people's incompetence is the only thing that has been saving us from their malice and corruption, and we have to keep rooting for the incompetence.

I have absolutely worked on projects with bad effects where the vendor was at fault and the director/AP/VFX Supervisor couldn't get the studio to pay to switch vendors, but that's the exception.
