The Peace of Wild Things
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

The verdict of a prominent conservative website and magazine:
"A 79-year-old man who has long dealt in chaos is now being consumed by that chaos. His episodes are becoming more frequent, his good days further apart. What he has lost is not a sense of decency or decorum—he never had those...

I struggle with the reality that some of the nation’s least wealthy people continue to support a man so deeply, irredeemably corrupt he routinely uses the power of public office to enrich himself.

A Year After U.S.A.I.D.’s Death, Fired Workers Find Few Jobs and Much Loss
The world’s richest man and a kid named “big balls” brought 6.7% unemployment to DC, put uniformed Fed troops in the streets and per conservative estimates cut programs that’ll result in the deaths of millions of people: www.nytimes.com/2026/04/21/u...

Without committing to specific numbers, a federal anti-SLAPP law for high-government officials should clearly be on the agenda of the next sentient Congress.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Absolutely.
"These people are stealing your tax money, robbing you of services you paid for to enrich themselves. I will stop that."
That's a pretty simple and effective message.

WOW: A stunning new report in the WSJ reveals that military advisers intentionally excluded Donald Trump from the command room during the recent high-stakes operation to extract a downed U.S. airman in Iran, because they feared his erratic behavior could jeopardize the mission. 1/

Case in point- the federal government is not a business, has never been a business, and was never intended to be a business. Businesses hold no social contract - governments do. Businesses exist because we the people, through our government, allow them to and set up the structures by which they do

As we read this about the Roberts Court let’s remember the shadow docket grievously harmed American scientific research, cancer cures, and public health over the past year.
For ex, KBJ’s “Calvinball” quote was in an NIH case. More, short 🧵 1/
