The SIA article you link to is misleading.

The spin from the SIA and its members relies on a broader domestic combustion aggregate that includes other fuels which are reducing. Wood used as a fuel shows an overall increasing trend since 2008.

Yep, UFPs are found everywhere. One big thing you are missing tho.
What they are made of.
Sea spray - salt water
Mushrooms - some varieties we safely eat

UFPs from wood burning:
black carbon
carcinogenic PAHs
benzene
formaldehyde
acrolein
inorganic ash compounds

You're scraping the barrel.

It's also always been causing health issues. It used to be the only form of heating.

The 80%-90% efficiency means you don't need as many logs to poison your neighbours.

And that efficiency appears to be increasing the more toxic ultrafine particles.

No, you don't.

You keep lying about emissions.

If you really supported clean air, you would only make electric stoves.

I've said that many times. You always ignore it, and somehow think you know better than the mountain of evidence that shows wood burning on modern stoves causes pollution.

The Stove Industry Association and it’s members are misleading the public….again! “Wood burning emissions continue to fall.” is a total lie from HETAS.

Charnwood don't actually support cleaner air, because they lie about the emissions data.

There's no such thing as clean-burn. As shown in the recent ASA upheld complaint against the Stove Industry Association.

The growing threat of domestic wood burning stoves—and industry’s legal attempts to shut down clean air campaigns As public health officials warn about rising emissions from urban wood burning, a BMJ investigation finds that just under a third of councils in high use areas have faced pressure from the stove indus...

Industry should not be trying to stop councils from communicating the facts.

The health effects of burning are widely known.

Modern stoves are not the answer: some emit MORE tiny particles of soot, carbon and cancer-causing chemicals than older stoves.

Non-essential burning has to stop.

The Government is holding a consultation on wood burning. It's a unique opportunity to call for:

🔥 Limits on how much pollution stoves can emit
🚫Stronger penalties for suppliers who don’t meet standards.
✅ Clearer information on stoves to help people make informed choices.

Sheffield use CAZ revenues to improve air quality for children - AirQualityNews Sheffield City Council has allocated £1 million from the city’s Clean Air Zone revenues to fund a series of initiatives aimed at improving air quality, with the overwhelming majority of the money…

It's so good to hear that "the overwhelming majority" of #Sheffield's Clean Air Zone revenue is to go towards protecting children from the harmful effects of #AirPollution. Cycle training, cycle storage, 20mph limits outside schools and 19 new #SchoolStreets will be funded - fantastic to hear.

Nothing to do with wood burning.
PM2.5 pollution from wood burning is nearly 60% of Domestic Combustion emissions.

That's 12% of the national total.

We need health & safety protections for all neighbours. Its about distance
from windows to the chimney, not whether urban or rural. We have this for gas boilers, but not wood burners. Yet Carbon Monoxide & other emissions are not even in same ball park. 720g/yr avg gas boiler Vs 34kg avg Ecodesign

Your Policy Pathway to phase out wood burning in urban areas is brilliant.
But rural wood burning is still a problem.

New wood-burning stoves to carry health warnings in UK plan Pollution from wood burners kills thousands but proposed emissions limit would cut toxic particles by 9%

DEFRA has just published a consultation on solid fuel burning. We're happy to see a long-term campaign ask addressed - warning labels on stoves. However, the proposals will only impact future emissions; they will do nothing to help all those affected by existing burning. #CleanAirNight #WoodBurning
