Mac Plus spec sheet showing how limited it was. Amazing at the time, though

Here are the specs:

Receipt for a Mac Plus computer, HDD, printer and cables from 1988. Also a picture of the Seagate 30MB external hard drive.

It is shocking how expensive hard drives were years ago. Here is my 30MB Seagate external drive from 1988! 30MB, and that was huge then! 30MB! Mac Plus computers didn't come with a HDD and only shipped with 1MB of RAM! I paid US $675 for the external drive, and $1,399 for the Mac Plus!

And this video is from Aug 21, 2025 - there has been sooooo much more since then.

Tessie was very proud of herself for having the idea to jump up on the fence post, and successfully balancing there.

So many people have to gamble with their health by foregoing health insurance, because they can't afford it, opting to bet they will not get sick, get in an accident, or get cancer. And people who do have cancer should not have $7,000 deductibles, on top of their high premiums, or high co-pays.

It is absolutely criminal that healthcare in the US is for profit. Just criminal. Nobody should go bankrupt because to pay for treatment - nobody! Nobody should have to chose between medicine and food or rent - nobody! Nobody should have to pay the amount of money we pay for insurance - nobody.

A friend of mine was one semester short of graduating with an engineering degree - one of the last required courses was Planned Obsolescence. Half way through the class he was so disgusted and disillusioned he walked away from the class and his degree. Making things that fail quickly is so wrong.

That was exactly my thought when I saw the video!

Oh, but to time travel and be there. Sigh.

They do tend to lean heavily into velociraptor behavior for the first four years, before settling into adulthood around five. Definitely have a long teenage stage! They are amazing as puppies and teenagers, but also will give you a run for your money!

That's where I learned about it too! Rasputina was absolutely at it's best when you were in it - you brought magic the the band and were were so lucky to see you play many times at the Great American Music Hall, and after you left the band, at your place on Neotomas, and the Green Music Center.

We had an electric Fiat 500 and absolutely loved it, but when it had a slight glitch in the audio system and needed an update, the shop loaned us a 500L for the weekend - the "L" in the model name was definitely for "Loser" - the 500L had such poor handling and was horrid to drive.

Usually hard red winter or spring. Experiment and take notes. I mainly bake sourdough bread and use the slow rise method, letting it rise in the refrigerator for 1 or 2 days, then put it cold in a preheated cast iron casserole at around 470°. I keep the extra wheat berries in the freezer.

The flavor is freshly milled flour is so amazing! Milling the flour is a tiny step - I mill directly into the measuring cup (I tare the scale first) and it honestly doesn't take any more time than scooping the flour out of a container or bag. We buy whole wheat berries in 50# bags which is cheaper.

Actually, I think that is a really valid question! They are decorative objects, so could be used as a Christmas ornament, a sun catcher, maybe hung up in an office cubicle, attached to a key for an antique cabinet, or...? Just something fun to hang and enjoy!

Finished the peyote stitch Moon Cat pod on Fridays stream. Today I will bead a hanger and a beaded detail of some sort to hang from the bottom and give it the finishing touch.
