How Silicon Valley Humiliated the Democrats When will they learn? The party remains far too solicitous of an industry that’s rewarded their fealty with four years of Trump and untold damage to democracy.

"What did the Democrats get in return? The bailout beneficiaries, Sacks included, backed Donald Trump with their rescued money and their time. Sacks, along with many other beneficiaries of the SVB bailout, endorsed Trump.... In V.C. parlance, they “cucked” the Biden administration."

I do find it interesting how acceptable it is for men to be reckless with their reputations (& everyone's close to them). When victims come forward, they're scolded to consider a man's precious reputation. But men are never scolded for not conducting themselves to protect them.

What Texas lawmakers aren’t saying about annexing New Mexico What does absorbing a few oil-rich counties in New Mexico have to do with Texas secession? A lot, actually.

I wrote about the speaker of the Texas House asking lawmakers to study annexing several counties in New Mexico along the state border. In doing so, he's throwing a bone to Texas secessionists and relitigating over 100 years of history:

What's gonna be fun is making up crazy shit that happens in the new Harry Potter series and nobody can call me out without admitting to their most embarrassing shame that they actually watched it.

If I knew viewing Guernica would put money directly into the pockets of a still living Pablo Picasso, who had announced publicly that he would be using that money to terrorize, harm, and kill women, not only would I not go view Guernica, it would fundamentally change the meaning of Guernica as art.

The ability to invisibilize all of that labor is on the same path of reality disconnect as extreme wealth.

My speech is weird because I had to have an operation on my mouth last Friday, but I have to show you this incredible object made by Tim Kowalczyk (www.instagram.com/timsceramics). I commissioned it as an urn for Fergus’ ashes because he loved boxes SO much. 📦

Disassembling a basket the cats have done in over the years for use as plant pot mulch. 🧵

Corpus Christi water emergency could be two months away Two out of the five projections city leaders presented Tuesday showed water shortages beginning in May. The city has yet to detail plans for how to reduce water use for residents and businesses.

No biggie, Corpus Christi is just one of the US's largest petroleum ports and the catastrophe may only be 2 months away.

Corpus Christi careens toward water catastrophe City officials expect to reach a “water emergency” within months and run out of water next year. That would halt jet fuel deliveries to Texas airports, hike gas prices and trigger a local economic dis...

Is this Corpus Christi water crisis news gaining traction outside of Texas? It could be and I'm just not seeing it - surely it will go national for the potential impact on gas prices alone. @sky.skymarchini.net any wisdom to share on the impact of the crisis?
