Nucleous’s nucleon car mode

On the flipside, Nucleous is a pretty nice upgrade from Magneous, a toy I already thought was more than decent. The colors are striking and the alt mode is crazy good, probably one of the gnarliest cars in recent years. I think it might roll better than Magneous too, though I might be misremembering

In theory, bot mode looks and feels fine, with pretty good articulation for the time. Unfortunately, his big honking backpack means he can’t hold many poses and is constantly falling over. Transformation is serviceable, but the alt mode falls apart in the middle, and it can’t even roll very well

Energon’s combiners don’t really grab me, and the fiction especially doesn’t help cuz they’re by far the most superfluous characters in the show’s already overstuffed cast, but Barricade had a cool alt mode and someone was selling it at can’t-regret pricing so here we are.

We actually do have a reference point for how old ‘87 Splinter is through TMNT Adventures because that comic adapted the first 7 episodes of ‘87 in its first few issues which are referenced way later on after Adventures becomes its own thing. So in 1987 this Splinter would be almost 60
