of course still pretty funny considering the absolute surfeit of Cybertronian Optimus Prime toys from recent years. Chaos Theory twice over, Gamer Prime, literally all of Transformers One, multiple Generations Orion Paxes...

you don't think it could be The War Within...? It's not like Nautica is called "MTMTE Nautica" or whatever
if not for that "did nobody test this even once?" joint cracking issue I think the last two years of Bionicle would be much better remembered. Certainly I would still be collecting it instead of trying to get it out of my house
people just don't understand anything do they
haha yeah that me! Wwwwith exception of that last line. I can sniff it a mile off because it's. Bad.
anyway my accent's from the north of England. Deh-lucks. And I'd say "luck over there". Didn't occur to me you could pronounce it another way—"loohk"?
it's sort of a monkey's paw situation. 100 for a tenner but they should probably be paying YOU to read them
it's time for 100 COMICS, in which I review 100 random indie comics. Critical darlings and literally-whos, movie tie-ins and movie pitch-decks, and way, way too many comics about vampires, orcs, CEOs, and the Earth-shaking war between Heaven and Hell. Don't miss it!

Secured me and @wadapan.bsky.social's TFN room for another year, now to try and bring my heart rate back down, lol.
nevermind that the actual masterings Marvel has to work from are a travesty, the question is like—they have this stuff! Why are there not as-cheap-as-they-can-print-them complete editions of all this stuff stuffing the shelves of every Waterstones? Are they scared people will think it's bad?
just today I sold five Marvel Pocketbooks, digest-size color volumes from Panini of Stan Lee material, at £5 each. If you look at Stan Lee's actual bibliography, most of the series he worked on could be fully covered in three compendiums or less. Imagine newsprint ones like Image does...
I’m extremely proud to announce The Multiversary Of Ask Vector Prime, my first fanzine that I’ll be debuting at TFCon LA 2025!
A deep dive into the history, evolution, and legacy of AVP, with original artwork and an interview with the man himself, @jimsorenson.bsky.social

that price is freaken Crazy but I guess I already have OP and don't need another one of that mold in my house? Even one that looks that lush? But How are they discounting it that much when it's literally only just arriving in people's houses!!
haha not at all, I'm excited to see what everyone has been cooking too! Feel free to message me if there's anything else you think I might be able to help with :) I have a lot of sources I didn't quite have space for in the end...
I couldn't find a recording of this one at a glance but you can probably just cite the TFW2005 article. I was there at the panel and remembered the information independently of it, that's all his answer will be!
oh, I think we're working on the same book! We actually do have a public, sourceable answer for this one. At a panel at TFNation 2019 he explained that the whole point of Sari's upgrade was to age up the cast to match CN's other shows, Ben 10 and Clone Wars

I kind of think it was the right choice in terms of genericising and systematising constraction builds, but that detail was definitely lost, and I missed it as a Bionicle fan!
soo sick!!!!
shoutout to my bro freecommissions.tumblr.com for the cover. It's so cool!!!
this week I have a really special short story! I wrote it several years ago, and the only reason I didn't share it then was because I had designs to submit it to magazines... but there's an aspect of the story that would have complicated that slightly...

but it's sort of a bell curve thing where if you push the NPU hard enough, what you're building stops looking like bionicle/CCBS/LEGO at all and fully enters like, art piece territory
www.reddit.com/r/lego/comme...
BIONICLE pieces are so lovingly sculpted with all that detail and CCBS just... isn't. CCBS is a lot more fun to build with! But it just looks worse! It's almost as far from BIONICLE as regular system parts are. Super Mario in Unreal Engine looking ass
the flipside is that I hate like a solid 90% of BIONICLE MOCs for looking nothing like retail sets. A billion tiny system and CCBS pieces stinking up the place, no gimmicks, just bizarre overengineering that results in obviously fragile connections. The Hagah MOCs are actually good about this!
but the idea that it was Greg's employment at LEGO giving him the magic wand to wave is absolutely farcical. Through any sane media-analytical lens there is zero difference between Greg post-BIONICLE's cancellation and Greg post-firing. Either way he's the guy best equipped to say "Sure, whatever"
I'm such an enlightened centrist about the canon contests unfortunately. I think it's ultimately a lovely idea to put people's MOCs on the fan wiki for characters that otherwise are just gonna have NO IMAGE plastered at the top. Like that's what the Rahi Beasts and Dark Hunters books were!
seeing a lot of buzz on Reddit recently about the Toa Hagah, thanks to some Etsy sellers making 3D-printed parts for the canon contest winning designs. And like those ARE sick-looking MOCS but I just can't get over the fact that come ON, that's Toa Dume and Nidhiki! Lhikan goes with them! Stop it!
pencil it in for this Thursday! Same wada-time, same wada-channel
just re-read this week's short story for the first time in maybe a year. I had vague designs to edit it, but coming back to it with fresh eyes, I wouldn't want to change a thing about it. You could say "I Feel The Same" about it now as I did when I wrote it
this year will be the 25th anniversary of Spirited Away—a film I somehow had avoided watching until now? Here's a little essay unpacking its coming-of-age-narrative!

worked for me! Put yourself out there! Try not to think about it too much!
there's no way. I mean there's just no way
