Nighttime musing: I wonder how things would be different if Apple had used/acquired BeOS instead of NeXTSTEP for their Mac OS X base.🤔 (*They almost did.)

I would love a printing press though and imagine you can optionally manual control it fully analog or digitally control it with cheap microboard computers

We probsblytdint have enough okd tech. Someone needs to create some opensourced 3d printable analog/digital typewriter from scratch. Or perhaps we just need epaper screens and thermal printing output that doesnt need ink refills. Solar powered.

Would be somehow great to have some small esp32 based kit to install on a mechanical typewriter and have it digitally store the text but let the typewriter work fully as normal at the same time

The IBM Selectric was a beast electric typewriter and you could change the typeball for different fonts and it also had delete/erase where it could undo whet you typed

Next i want a full size mechanical printing press and a way to get or make paper cheaply… so we can print the great stuff outsider writers are writing.

I think we should all start blogs again. Or online journals, even. That was a nice time. Just writing a few paragraphs about your day (don't forget to list the sad song you're listening to!) and maybe your friends will leave a comment. Then you go and read theirs and comment. It was fun.

Me standing at Vauxhall train station with lots of rugby fans

Crowds at Vauxhall and at every station on the way to Twickenham are bonkers. I think it's sold out. Love this for women's rugby.

ok running a podman rootless container that was going entirely missing on each host reboot (if container running, but would remain if container was in stopped state before reboot), the fix was remembering to include env vars USER_UID=1000 and USER_GID=1000 in docker compose yaml.

A Chinese company(BYD) launch theirs👇 in Paris today. Speed of charge is like a petrol pump.

Another huge eucalyptus tree is being chopped down in my street. Grand old trees that gave this street its magic that made us want to live here are all slowly going away whenever anyone sells. Scorched earth. A lemon scented gum that would knock you down with beautiful aroma, only after it rained.
