Something I'd heard about publishing: the days after launch are quiet.
You spend months building towards a single date, which arrives and passes and the book just... exists. Which is wonderful and slightly surreal.

MY DEBUT EARNED OUT!

It's taken 3 years + 1 month to earn back the £470 I spent on cover, editing, isbns, merch etc. Considering all the factors against me/this book, I'm so freaking proud. It's the *first* book I wrote in English.

I hope I can hit 350 copies sold this month 👀

Thank you for your very kind words. Much appreciated! With all the challenges facing the writing community I think the only way to thrive going forward is to work together and support each other. Thankfully I see more and more good folks stepping up to do that every day.

One of the concerns I hear people express about getting on #BlueSky is that they're starting from scratch & don't see engagement. Problem is, you have to engage to get engagement. I find BlueSky VERY responsive. Yes, it takes a little time (less than the other place), but it's worth every minute!!!

Yesterday Judgement went out into the world. Today I've been enjoying that people are actually reading it.
If you're one of the people who picked it up — thank you. Genuinely.
If you haven't yet: it's there. Waiting patiently.

ChatGPT’s latest stylistic quirk is sinister, infuriating – and absolutely everywhere | Stuart Heritage Once you start noticing “it’s not X, it’s Y” as you scroll online, you can’t fail to register it. I’ve become so hypervigilant that it has seeped into my subconscious thoughts

I read this earlier. Now working on the current project and typed "He wasn’t expecting to be shot – he was expecting the net."
I'm now second guessing myself just like the guy in the article! :(

How the heck does a 306-page hard sci-fi novel end up in the rankings for short stories and humour?

Aha, perhaps they think my writing's a joke :/

An orbital habitat. A fanatical cult. A deadly conspiracy.

2 days to go.
The conspiracy in #Judgement starts small. An anomaly. Something that doesn't quite add up.
By the time Martal understands what he's looking at, the conspiracy reaches far closer to home than he imagined.
