If you two wanted to learn magic how would you prefer to go about it? Would you rather study it? (Academically/ Artistically) Conduct / construct it as more of a tradesmen? Or just enlist an incredibly powerful otherworldly entity to “gift” you major for favors? Or maybe another way?

I’m sure the setting will be interesting and perhaps what you’re suggesting isn’t even that “against the grain” as someone might think but when it comes to fantasy and fiction as a tool for enabling the “impossible” for me the most interesting systems have consistent rules which include drawbacks.

Super late to this. I wanted to think a bit about this and not knee jerk react. Plenty of people have already jumped to my initial thought of Star Trek as a narrative. After some thought though a society with no blemishes could be read as propaganda-y(?). “There is no war in Ba Sing Se” uncanny.
