So.... starting my journey into anime and am curious about some recommendations for something good, outside of the obvious ones and please, none of the ones that are subversive or have Deus Ex Machina ending, as I truly loathe such endings. Also, thoughts on where Moonrise ranks?
Well, 7 seasons are out now, and the 8th and final season is due to release next year, so the end isn't far off. Season 4 is where things start getting really good, and so much changes with the story moving forward. I'm sure you'll both enjoy it.
Maybe have him sit down and watch Outlander? Loved the books, and love the series. While there are a few changes, the casting, and storytelling was spot on! If he tries complaining, let him know that all the good stuff, such as duels, old world combat, and even a but of spy craft are in the series.
