I have a soft spot for historical middle-grade novels, and Max in the House of Spies by Adam Gidwitz is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. Set in WW II, Max flees Nazi Germany to England aboard the Kindertransport, where he is soon recruited into training as a spy. #mglit #kidlit #review
