Prof. @weparmet.bsky.social, key note in #CHLS2026's symposium on A Defining Moment for Vaccine Science and Policy in @slulaw.bsky.social: Consensus fracturing; but hope: most people want access to vaccines, and these conversations emphasize that we can protect future children from old diseases.

Today, Defend Public Health filed our second amicus brief in the lawsuit against RFK Jr. and his HHS for their harmful changes to vaccine recommendations.
Shout out to our fearless legal leaders @weparmet.bsky.social, @doritreiss.bsky.social, and the DPH members who helped with the brief.
We filed an amicus brief in support of a lawsuit against RFK Jr. by the AAP and APHA, and the government tried and failed to get the suit tossed. A judge said no, citing our amicus brief.
Much gratitude to @doritreiss.bsky.social and @weparmet.bsky.social for absolutely crushing it on this brief.
And the great scientists from Defend Public Health and the wonderful litigation team at Hooper Lundy.
@defendpublichealth.bsky.social just submitted an amicus brief in district court in American Academy of Pediatrics v. Robert F. Kennedy Jr on federal vaccine policy. drive.google.com/file/d/1FEH-...

So Texas, which pioneered the Texas 2 step and has worked to shield companies from tort liability is now suing J&J for trying to shield itself from potential liability in Tylenol claims. Irony really is dead.

NEW: @weparmet.bsky.social and me in @amjpublichealth.bsky.social on last Supreme Ct term & impact on health. TLDR: Major concerns about the Court's politicizing health agencies, dashing protections for marginalized groups, and eroding access to justice.

Pleased to share the latest essay by Daniel Aaron and me on the potential impact of the Supreme Court's 2024 term on health, ajph.aphapublications.org/doi/full/10....

Right, emphasizing the risks of prescription drugs may be helpful, but if ads by supps don't have to disclose risks, it will lead to the misimpression that supplements are always safer (and more effective).
You would think that they would rule against him at least once in a blue moon just to give the appearance of independence, but nope.
Sorry but most kings are constitutional monarchs. What we have may be much worse,
This is the exact opposite of what SCOTUS did. It allowed discriminatory stops,

My 96 year old mom, who doesn't do social media, told me the other day about a childhood neighbor who died from diphtheria. So glad I didn't have to worry about that for my own kids!
Enjoyed talking with the Boston Globe about the steps that Mass DPH took today to ensure that COVID-vaccines are available in the state. www.bostonglobe.com/2025/09/03/m...
And states that prohibit pharmacies from administering shots that haven't been approved by ACIP should change their regulations/policies.
Looks like it will be next to impossible to get COVID vaccines in MA for weeks or even months unless your MD will deliver them. For those of us at high risk without that option, well guess we're out of luck or have to become vaccine tourists. Thanks RFK. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/28/w...
Just learned - maybe others knew - that there are (almost) no COVID vaccines available anywhere. The old ones have been pulled; the new ones not approved. My MD said I need it, but I can't get it. Thanks RFK!
So glad it went well! Best news I've heard in a long time.

The quick takeaway: litigants challenging health equity initiatives have had considerable success in the courts.
