I was never big on Twitter or Bluesky so I could be wrong about this, but I have a hard time believing Bluesky users are worse at getting jokes than twitter users are/were. “So you hate waffles?” was a tweet about twitter, people are just humorless sometimes.

Let’s go Nats!
Alright flipping over to the Orioles
I love DC ads. Normal ads are for lots of people but then in DC it’s like “is it possible the particular GS-15 that we need to sign off on something would be riding this train?”
Audi field during the national anthem. A large American flag is being held over the field, obscured by firework smoke
A banner over Audi field reads “2025 United Football League Champions”

Beautiful weather for the start of UFL football in DC

I wonder if Bezos loses track of how many billions of dollars he has. Would he squint at $417B and say to himself “I think that’s right?”
Nearly 20,000 people have been detained in just over a year, in the DC area. READ THAT NUMBER AGAIN.
The impact? Communities living in fear, avoiding public life (going to work, dropping their kids at school), and constantly questioning the occupation of our city.
ICE OUT NOW 🗣️
“The expanded curfew policy allows the police chief to declare zones where people age 17 and younger are forbidden from ga* hering in groups of more than eight after 8 p.m. To date, police say, they have not arrested anyone for violating the curfew but have made arrests”
“On Friday, police shut down a gathering behind the Banneker Recreation Center and made three arrests after a fight broke out - an hour and a half before the 8 p.m. curfew. A male 17-year-old from Hyattsville was seen brandishing a knife and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, and an adult female victim was treated at a hospital for a non-life-threatening stab wound, according to police.”
“For D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D), getting rid of the curfew policy is out of the question. She lambasted lawmakers for delaying debate, which she saw as effectively killing the policy ahead of next week's spring break, and suggested they were "soft on crime." "The council will say, 'Oh, we drove crime down. So let's start going back to soft-on-crime policies," Bowser told reporters after the delay. "Let's start making the job of the MPD officer more difficult than the job of the Capitol Police officer or the United States Secret Service."”
“Several D.C. police officers were in the parking lot, monitoring the young crowd. Signs posted on nearby light poles said the block was part of a curfew zone. Shortly before 8 p.m., officers told the groups to disperse. The teens slowly scattered into the night.”
The curfew is so important to DC policing that it has resulted in 0 arrests and is unrelated to youth crime MPD responds to. They could do exactly what they’re doing, have cops near where gatherings take place, without it. But we have to perform deference to police for the sake of it apparently.
The scoreboard at Nationals Park. It’s flanked by billboards on either side, and the longstanding billboard for the Washington Post is absent
The Washington Post billboard at Nats Park has been replaced by a Vanda billboard. I think it would have annoyed me more though to see it after they cut the sports section.
The ITU models being invalid for availability above 5 9s is a sign of societal decay.
If the time between boarding the rocket and lift off could be cut to 13 minutes or less then he could be bamboozled into it.
The DC Streetcar, curbside. Its route sign is displaying a software version no., “VSS V3.3”
The DC streetcar, viewed from the Union Station stop at the top of the Hop Scotch Bridge. In the background are buildings and the rising sun.
Weird now to recall that I live near H Street in part because of the streetcar. I realized quickly that the X2 (D20) got me to Union Station faster, but bus stops aren’t perks to prospective tenants. They don’t convince people they can live somewhere without a car the way trains or light rail does.
Only way Vince and Ringo’s reactions to the briefcase makes sense tbh

It’s important to use proper jerrybags at the milk refill, people don’t realize it but milk eats through and dissolves regular bags
I’ve bought more expensive things than flights on my phone, but I won’t buy flights on my phone.
Even if Congress could pass a DC retrocession act by overriding the filibuster/making bagholders of congressional Dems, Maryland state dems are too close to national politics and have too little appetite to self own to pass it at a state level. Retrocession is Republican wishful thinking (I hope)
Idk why a state level republican is adopting this talking point. Aside from all the practical reasons it shouldn’t happen, and the fact it’s a political nonstarter with democrats, retrocession is just about the only way the Maryland Republican Party could become less relevant.
