And another day on the Offenburg - Strasbourg line, catching the last bits of sunlight

Oh well, seems like I’m lucky today and so are my passengers xD When I departed in Strasbourg I even had free seats left 😵💫 Even after Kehl there was nobody standing, huh. Crazy how different it can be. Also my train to Kehl now is almost empty, so was my first to Strasbourg.
Another service on the Offenburg Strasbourg line today. Colleagues already left hundreds of passengers behind again today it’s extremely busy again. Train before me left around 20 passengers here in Strasbourg who are now already in my train. Let’s see how many I’ll leave behind
That was my first train from Strasbourg to Offenburg today, let’s see how the rest goes xD First from Offenburg to Strasbourg was quite empty though.
Saturday, nice weather, end of Easter vacations, I‘m driving Offenburg - Strasbourg line again.
- Left 20 people and 5 cyclists behind in Strasbourg
- Left 4 people behind in Krimmeri
- Left 30 people and 10 cyclists behind in Kehl
- Left 3 people and 1 cyclist behind in Kork
Smol train and chaos again… 2 of our 5 diesel trains for the SNCF network are so damaged that they can’t be used at the moment, so I have to ride with only one, extremely full of course 😵💫 Oh well but one has been repaired now and will be coupled later at least so I have 2 again.
My service today is starting with only chaos and delays… Broken down level crossing, unscheduled change of trains because of workshop wishes… So my first three rides were kind of stressful x.x But now I’ll finally be back on time again.
It’s allowed now, a Régiolis was driving to Offenburg and back Tuesday last week, without passengers. But the ride was successful. So it’s looking good for a start in May 👍🏻
Easter time is track works time, so some trains from Strasbourg to Offenburg already end in Appenweier at the moment. Well, only two at the moment, from Friday to April 10 all trains will only run between Appenweier and Strasbourg though since Offenburg station will be closed.
I only know that they are manufactured completely in France
It’s not helping driving the trains, but it is useful for general communication with passengers, like making announcements and for communicating with other personnel involved in the railway and to get to know more technical words and speech that you don’t learn in school or regular language courses.
But also in the past days and past few weeks I had to leave people behind, it’s clearly getting busier again while the trains were mostly empty in January and February. This week a new Régiolis was driving from Strasbourg to Offenburg and back, successfully, hopefully May 4 start
Driving Offenburg - Strasbourg again today, damn the trains are getting busy again, you can clearly feel that the Easter vacations have started. Already had to leave about 30 people and 10 cyclists behind today, my colleagues also left plenty of people behind already, too.
It’s been a long while since I posted something, there was just nothing interesting to post ^^ Today I’m actually driving a German service again for a change, been a long while since I’ve been here in Bad Griesbach, too and there is actually some snow up here :3
<- the ambulance suddenly arrived, followed by a second police car, okay, damn. Then a couple minutes later they dragged someone out of my train and put them on the platform and treated them and then a police officer came and told me I could continue. No idea what all this was about.
<- have a „missing person“ inside my train, would only take one or two minutes. Then they disappeared inside my train, nobody came out and nothing happened for five minutes, I made an announcement, then 10 minutes had passed, still nobody to see, then I suddenly heard sirens and ->
Oh well, didn’t take that long in the end, I don’t even know what happened back there. When I arrived in Appenweier I saw a police car racing towards me to the platform, two police officers instantly got out of the car and rushed towards my train, one told me to wait, I would ->
Big shit happening in my train right now…
And my first service after 3 weeks of vacation brings me to where I was on my last day before my vacation, to Hornberg :3
And here I am, doing my day of refreshment training on the new international trains, that are already waiting for 3 years to finally go international… And of course only while standing, no driving allowed for us here. Very exciting 🥱😴
It’s not about the Régiolis going up to 200, it’s about incoming trains like ICE trains that cross with 200 +
That’s why we are not allowed and able to drive them in Germany today, my refreshment training for tomorrow with them is therefore cancelled completely and yeah today we only do some refreshment in Strasbourg with the standing train, no driving.
I got new news about the Régiolis trains. Apparently the authorization for Germany the trains got in January this year has been taken back by the German authorities due to new technical problems with the German train protection and problems when meeting other trains at high speed ( 200 km/h + )
Now they want us to take the bus replacement service from Offenburg to Kehl and the train or tram from Kehl to Strasbourg on both days to do some "refreshing" on the Régiolis, so no driving at all, just doing stuff on the train while standing. I'm not even back from vacation and already pissed x.x
So the original plan for me was to actually finally drive the new Régiolis trains in Germany without passengers for training on Monday and Tuesday. Welp, it got cancelled. Due to overhead wire works between Kork and Kehl which also last on Monday and Tuesday. 🙄
And this were the best talons I have ever seen hehe, perfect to cover and censor faces hehehe
Oh and I finally got myself some paws ~
Long time no post from me. Well, I’m on vacation hehe. Just returned from Sweden, NordicFuzzCon surely was a blast again, what an amazing week of great friends, people, fun and food. Next week back to work, driving Régiolis in Germany for the very first time, cross border, without passengers 👀
Sitting around in school in Strasbourg, doing language training for the new trains that are supposed to start operating at May 4. Learning new technical vocabulary and improving and updating existing language skills. Tomorrow another day in school and then 3 weeks of vacation ~
And got my train from a five minute delay down to a two minute early arrival hrhr
