Perfect summary. Really frustrating night, but still so much better in defeat than some spineless performances we’ve seen in other years. Feel the team spirit is good, just lacking finish (all season).

Gutted with the result. But they kept going, never gave up and feel robbed there.

Good memory! Just remember his blistering form and impact he made!

Didn’t we sign Kevin Campbell in January window? Even if not true, still need someone like him with genuine pedigree rescued from being unhappy in a European league!

Slightly concerning we can’t sign anyone better than Beto and McNeil who have interest and could bring in some cash.

Good recovery from awful first half… so good to have some players back. Disappointed for Patterson - really want him to take that position and own it. But great to see Barry enjoying the game.

Great point. One that can’t fit into the 25%.

Given American products are so entwined with our culture it’s going to be tricky. But, I’m going to do the best I can to remove 10-25% of my spend from
American businesses.
We may be just a small country, but we’re a great one too…

Ben White at right back sounds good to me.

I thought that! Just kick the bloody ball hard into a corner!

Those penalties. I’m still raging.

Worst penalty shootout I’ve ever seen by any team, ever.

Made up for Barry. He’s been working his socks off for weeks.

That is absolutely no way a red card. That was ridiculous.

That was tough watch second half. We were brilliant first 20. I’m going to stick with positives.

Loved seeing Alcaraz out there today. Changed the game and tempo.

What a turnaround in second half. Every player stepped up after break. 👏👏

Think you’re right. We’ll need him firing this season and was only backup player who thought deserved the chance last night.

Not based on his finishing last night! But definitely a good idea. Beto and Barry are really poor.

Disappointed for Alcaraz yesterday, there’s a good player there who’s been nudged out by Grealish. Sadly really didn’t grab the chance.

Played like a group of individuals - no team there yet at all. Today should have been first team to work on it, not prove another bunch of individuals aren’t good enough.

Drives me crazy every year. So stupid and increases chances of needless exit.

Imagine your manager too afraid to watch the shoot-out. Hardly leading from the front by Ruben Amorim. Well done Grimsby, awesome result that.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

What a week of contrasts - that lacklustre away loss to Leeds then WOW what a way to start new life at new ground. Ndiaye, Grealish and Alcaraz look 3 attacking threats to rival anyone this season.

Agree with that. Although Doucoure is a gap at moment (but know we can do better!)

Fair enough. Clearly hope it proves to be a bargain - all those players were signed to be straight into team. He feels a bit off that, but hopefully wrong.

Quoted £50m by Southampton who are desperate for cash to make up premier league shortfall.

Will be delighted if I am. Clearly a good young talent, but can’t see how he gets into the team and therefore a crazy sum.

Yep. For that money to have a player who’s not ready to actually start seems crazy. Just hope he’s the future talent to prove me wrong in long run.

£36m though. Wow. I really hope I’m completely wrong and turns into a bargain.
