I always like to point out the Letty Lynton intro theme is the same song Harlow seduces Bill Legendre with in Red-Headed Woman (1932). Thanks MGM.

Eleanor Hutton Elopes With Playwright; Weds Preston Sturges Over Parents' Protest (Published 1930)

Crazy but true: Preston Sturges was born Edmund Preston Biden, and was likely a distant relative of Joe Biden; his second wife—whom he eloped with over her parents’ objections—was the daughter of Marjorie Merriweather Post, who built & originally owned Mar-a-Lago in the 1920s with her husband.

I actually really adore this oddly beautiful film, but Wellman’s recollections of Warner Baxter being too old for it are still the funniest thing ever. As published in @fthomp.bsky.social’s pioneering Wellman book, which you should read, along with all the rest of Frank’s books.
