so many of these statements should be prefaced by 'for the middle classes' because many, many key workers were far from stuck in their homes and many others had to continue care for family members. it's a particular thing in punditry like you quote to assume a privileged experience is universal

At our larp many of our props have cards on them stating basic things which allow for exploration by players without referees being present. One that we always add is 'what happens if I lick this?'

I’m not saying it’s exploding but we have few/no time series studies/intergenerational studies on its impact, no explorations of its impact on policy (and vice vers) and so on. So who the hell knows what’s really going on.

It depends how you measure it. The skew of the extreme ultra rich on service, access and expectation for everyone else is very poorly studied. Just for example. Or another - how digital inequalities have impacted wealth inequality - do they magnify or something else?
