This episode of SNL was not as good as the last two which is a shame as I showed it to someone who'd not seen it before tonight

Quiet zone sign on a train. It says to not use your phone and make sure your music does not disturb other passengers. The accompanying icons have an old T9 phone with antenna crossed out, and a pair of overear headphones crossed out.
A relic of the not too distant past when it was considered inconsiderate to play music so loudly it leaked out of your headphones.
Now a small minority of people literally play music *out loud*. A very real shift.

Petit écolier biscuits
Le petit chocolat biscuits
Can't for the life of me figure out why they released Le Petit écolier biscuits in the UK as Le Petit Chocolat (aka "the small chocolate") rather than just using a direct English translation of The Small Schoolboy 🤔
Fuel duty is *already* 34p per litre lower, in real terms, than in 2010
Its been frozen or cut for 15 years
Its cost the Treasury over £200bn in tax - and hugely incentivised people to keep using ICE cars and driving. It's favoured the richest
If anything we should be restoring it to 2010 levels
Need a switch 2 I fear...
Incentivizing fuel use during a shortage. Wonder what will happen when demand goes up...
Despite calling climate change an "existential threat" on their website, the Lib Dems have just called for a 10p cut to fuel duty (so nearly 19% cut to duty on a litre of fuel).
They also called for 10% cut to rail fares.

I think I might start doing this
Oh, and don't forget to download and scan the app or we will charge you double!
Swear UK supermarkets are in a race to see who can make the shopping experience the shittest.
Big shop? Use that tiny self checkout.
Want to leave? Scan the receipt you forgot and we might let you out.
And the soundtrack to it all: constant alarms.

A very emotional inquest to attend and a reminder that road violence has real consequences.
I feel absolutely terrible for the Di Palma family.

Strikes me as an absurd threat, either we need the 4000 new training places or we don’t
A great time to do more than 270 projects on Britain's railways then, including closing the West Coast Main Line between Euston and Milton Keynes.

Yep and they even offered them some free parking in a car park. Not enough for them though!
Yet another M&S moving out of a high street and into a retail park. So backwards. www.maidenhead-advertiser.co.uk/gallery/busi...
