One of my favorite little bits of design in Etrian Odyssey 3 is the implied character arc in the Sovereign skill tree. They start out being a pampered royal who needs to be protected and end up as a major source of morale and inspiration for the party who heals them as they march. It's neat :3

I relate a lot to Emily in that I feel like any sort of expression of littleness feels dangerous, and that the resolution of the story being that she finds someone with whom she's comfortable being that way with and finding love and happiness and fulfillment through that.

Writing this story has me thinking about the one ABDL fic that lives in my head constantly: Chasing Emily. The prose is very understated but evocative, and the characters are very strong. I didnt realize until now that it resonates as a story about someone who doesnt feel safe feeling/being little.

Its hard to know how to feel. On the one hand, this doesn't feel like anything new for me. I'm black AND trans, my life has already been deemed largely worthless by hegemony. But I am aware things can get worse. All I will say is please keep an eye out for your black comrades as well, we need it.

One more thing. The idea of a non-political kink space feels nonsensical to me. These are incredibly intimate interactions whether they are done casually or not. I'm willing to talk with people who agree on the big stuff vis a vis human rights and such. Otherwise, why are we even playing together?
