Tell Congress to Say No to Warrantless AI Mass Surveillance The War on Terror-era legislation that authorized decades of civil liberties-eroding mass surveillance is set to expire. Congress needs to overhaul the bill to protect our privacy, or allow it to die....

A little-known law that lets the government sidestep the Constitution to spy on American citizens is set to expire at the end of this month.

We need to make sure Democrats don’t reauthorize this civil liberties disaster. 👇

Two Palestinians Killed in Israeli Shooting Near West Bank School

Settlers and Israeli soldiers descended on a school in the West Bank -- and started firing live rounds.

Multiple kids were shot and one was killed.

His father was killed by settlers six years ago.

Man it sucks that images aren’t displaying if only there were some helpful tool where you could describe the photo with a few words. Like. An alternative text or something.

There are two main differences to me in a lot of what blue states are currently doing:

1) they are putting it to the voters. that alone means something.

2) most of them have FIRM time limits. it's basically, "fine we're gonna do an end-run around your cheating for as long as you keep cheating."

The Disappearance of the Public Bench Benches are microcosms of an expansive debate about who belongs in urban public spaces. When they are removed or made uninviting, we lose more than just a place to rest.

"Benches are where optimistic visions of civic life meet reality. To remove them, or to curate who gets to sit, is to abandon the work of defining a civic ideal and determining, together, how to live up to it."

NEW: Why benches are slowly disappearing from public spaces — and why we need them back:

Part of changing our completely broken culture is to stop being polite to ppl who aren't owed kindness & stop inviting rotten people into our spaces. The Epstein Files & other atrocities occur b/c we're worried about protecting the feelings of shitty men or benefiting from proximity to their power.

Vanity Fair Class is in session: David Brooks lectured a room full of Yale students about love, of all things: "We shouldn't forget the heart." now

“We shouldn’t forget the heart. Unless it starts to get old and there’s a younger heart, maybe in her 20s, working as your research assistant for a preachy book about ‘character.’ In that case you should definitely dump the first heart and focus on the second, much younger heart.”

There are virtually no major pharma companies working on new antibiotics.

And you wanna know why?........It's because there's not much money in it.

Pharma concentrates on drugs to treat chronic conditions over all else.

And the key word there is "treat". Not much money in "cure".

I swear if this pope finishes one of these talks and then jumps on a bike and rides away I may become a full-fledged catholic.
