#AvatarFireAndAsh finally got me to care about the series' characters and I quite enjoyed it. The narrative is clunky, long and a bit all over the place, just like in the first 2, but the character relationships and interactions are much better. And the action was pretty. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#TheRunningMan is a bit all over the place. It has some good sequences but each feels removed and discreet from those around it. Which makes the whole pretty disjointed. It feels like it could have been much tighter and ended in a more satisfying way. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#WakeUpDeadMan is ok but I found myself losing interest in the plot at times. Usually I'm a fan of the whodunnit genre and really like the previous Knives Out films but in this case I ended up not really caring who the killer was by the end. #weeklyfilmthoughts

I think #Christy might be one of the saddest films I have ever seen. It's just depressing from beginning to (almost) end. It isn't bad though and tells an important story. A strong relationship drama with a boxing backdrop. #weeklyfilmthoughts

The world and creature design of #PredatorBadlands is great but it's very silly and clearly takes a "story last" approach to film-making. I had a good time and the action is cool, so it works but it's paper thin in depth. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#Bugonia is excellent. Just from a film making perspective it's worth seeing and the sound design is brilliant. As a drama-thriller it really worked for me and it is one of those films you just want to talk about as soon as you come out of the cinema. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#OneBattleAfterAnother is pretty disappointing. It's well acted and there is some great cinematography. Particularly is some of the framing. But it just completely failed to hold my interest or make me care for what was happening. It just didn't feel right. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#TronAres is silly. It's quite enjoyable and Evan Peters is excellent but try not to think about anything that is actually happening. The relationship between the 2 main characters doesn't really work but it's fun overall and there are lots of references for TRON fans. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#TheLongWalk is very good. It feels unique even within the dystopian survival game genre. Its premise is straightforward and the world and background are incredibly vague but the drama and characters are compelling regardless, and it makes for a really engaging journey. #weeklyfilmthoughts

Also has the best credits crawl I have ever seen. It's fantastic!

#CaughtStealing is smartly written, well acted and nails the grungy vibe it's going for. It does a great job of making everything mean something to the story and whilst it's off beat and a little larger than life it always feels grounded and real within its own world. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#Weapons is weird. It's quite good but is too long and fairly inconsistent. It starts with an interesting mystery and some decent tension, then moves on to some decent horror and anxiety moments. But for the last 30 minutes or so I just found it silly and kinda funny. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#TheNakedGun is ok. I had fun and there were a fair number of funny moments. The script is fine but the actual "jokes" don't always land. The visual and physical humour is much better though and they make up for some of the weaker bits. #weeklyfilmthoughts

I wasn't super impressed by #TheFantasticFourFirstSteps It's dramatic but I didn't connect with it emotionally. It also had some nice, light-hearted moments but I didn't have much fun. The characters and acting were fine but as a whole it's just ok and didn't entertain me much. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#SupermanMovie is good fun but very chaotic. The character, casting and performances are all fantastic but the plot is a bit all over the place. It also has some issues with undercutting itself in serious moments. Still, an enjoyable time. #weeklyfilmthoughts

When #F1TheMovie is good it is excellent. It's a bit too long, there are some rough patches and it stalls a couple of times but never crashes out. It has real charisma and I found myself invested in both the relationships and the action. Great stuff. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#JurrasicWorldRebirth is pretty good when the characters aren't walking and talking and repeating the same exposition over and over. It's a classic blockbuster. The set pieces are mostly tense and exciting, and it's full of Jurassic Park tropes. #weeklyfilmthoughts

So hear me out. #kpopdemonhunters is really good actually. It's pretty daft and very T for teen but it has real heart and a solid emotional hook. The songs and animation are also good, and the humour lands very well. There are holes for sure but it's good fun. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#FinalDestinationBloodlines is a Final Destination film that does Final Destination things. It has some good sequences, particularly early on, and the first half is definitely better than the second but it's otherwise exactly what you'd expect it to be. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#MissionImpossible #thefinalreckoning is really good! It's fun, action-packed, and has great action sequences. It's a little weird because it feels so overly dramatic that it's more like watching some grand science fiction epic than a spy thriller. But I still really enjoyed it. #weeklyfilmthoughts

I had a great time with #Ballerina It's slow to get going and is a little forced early on, but once it gets going it is a lot of fun. The action sequences, in particular, are as good as any of the John Wick films and this feels right at home in the series. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#TheSaltPath left me feeling rather melancholy. I don't know if that was the desired effect but I also don't really know if it was good or bad or just meh. There are some sweet moments but otherwise it felt like a long walk. A tough one to review. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #weeklyfilmthoughts

I usually quite like a Wes Anderson but #ThePhoenicianScheme didn't really do much for me. Maybe I just didn't get it but it all felt quite flat and I didn't have much fun. It's not bad I just didn't vibe with it like I thought I would. #weeklyfilmthoughts

I quite enjoyed #KarateKidLegends up until it gets to the fight tournament/training. Which is a shame given that the martial arts and fighting are what you go for. But here they are the weakest parts. The antagonists are also pretty much non-entities which makes it hard to care. #weeklyfilmthoughts

#TheAmateur is pretty good. It's pretty expected and is not going to set your excitement or imagination on fire but it's a solid action thriller that kept me entertained throughout. #weeklyfilmthoughts

Absolutely, it was spectacular. I almost wish they'd had a music battle for the finale.

Basically from when they get in, to the breaking of dawn. It's not a bad sequence. It's just not as good as anything that came before. So as a climax it feels a bit weak. Especially when you compare it to the musical sequences, which are just so damn good.

#Sinners is fantastic with the exception of one sequence later on in the run-time, which doesn't quite live up to the rest of it. Unfortunately, that sequence is pretty important. It's still excellent but just loses it a little steam towards the end. #weeklyfilmthoughts

I enjoyed #Thunderbolts a lot and can't really articulate why. But I'll try. It has a very solid emotional and thematic core and Florence Pugh is fantastic as ever. She's definitely the star here and the other characters are very much supporting cast, which may disappoint some. #weeklyfilmthoughts

Whilst it's not excellent, I think #ThePenguinLessons is probably exactly the film it wanted to be. It's a sad film, about a sad man, during a sad time in his life, in a part of the world where sad things are happening. And there is also a penguin. It was sad. #weeklyfilmthoughts
