私がよく使っている単語”birb”はインターネットスラングで「トリチャン」のことです。日本人が犬のことをイッヌと言うのに近いニュアンス。
元々Borb（Bird/鳥 + Orb/玉）という「まんまるな鳥」を意味するスラングがあって、Birbは「まんまるとは限らないが、さりとてかわいいトリチャン」ぐらいの汎用的なポジションです。
