I could probably handle a "Humboldt California" feed. I have more of a lean towards the native plants because of my areas of interest. If there's someone who wants to handle non-native feed of the region as a whole, I'm not worried about having multiple people doing different feeds that overlap.

One can never be too sure if cat is secretly a bus!!

It certainly isn't the same level of sinister that I consider when people say they are "nice"

It is definitely a good idea to ponder why someone needs to tell you what they are rather than just demonstrate it by being that thing?

I usually end up waking up at 5am when I'm not working if I do this, so it's a double edged knife xD

These can be hard truths for some of us.

Really admire the ppl who have long been able to assess & 'wash their hands' of a problem behavior before it becomes a bigger problem. Whether the behavior is someone else or themselves doing it, conflict resolution is a skill that should be taught to all.

Serving tray, the interior is my collage work. The ruler marks on the outside were already on this piece ;3 I finished this around 2019 but only recently dug it out of storage.

Painted cow skull, copper and blue, with steel ruler

Painted cow skull, copper and blue, with steel ruler

Post image

Painted cow skull. I used a textured gesso to give it a sort of stucco feel. Acrylic, approx 2009
Ruler is about 18" long, this is a heavier skull. Bones from this local(ish) dairy were from animals that died of old age or put down because of serious illness.

Three horned sheep skull, weathered and restored colors on horns

Post image

Jacob's sheep skull. The horns were a bit sun bleached or samaged, all the color is all hand painted over them. Skull is about 7" from between the horns to the snoot, and the bigger horns are about a 10" spread. The right horn is longest and about 12" along the curl. Painting was around 2010

I ended up harassing some poor live journal hosts a few years ago , just so I could get into my own old crusty account and remove some stuff that was relatively personal from the early two thousands. Self doxxing on a much smaller scale Dx

It sounds like preening between two birds (depends on species) can be friendly. But for SOME it can be sexual, and when humans do this to birds, they can inadvertently touch in ways that become sexual because we do not speak their language. :( B
Parrots can't report us to HR, sadly.

I think too many humans own parrots, even people who know a lot about them. My aunt was trying to convince me that taking on her 20yo cockatoo was a good "Plan B" when she died Dx
People view actual children as toys to lug around more than individual creatures who deserve respect, understanding
