Superb Jeremy!
A friend had something similar in Hitchin years ago (aside from the Warhammer) unfortunately it didn't last long :( Fingers crossed this one can make a go of it!
Exciting! Having not played Arete yet... Goodreader provides me with a lot of entertainment :)
I just had a bit of a sad - "Hey I recognise that map" moment... played this one yesterday :) Allies victory 8VP through German surrender.
Just had my first solo game of Warfighter Modern from DVG. It's was a fun experience but the learning the game could use some work. I think I got through it correctly though it took some time. I'll try another game soon while hopefully the order of play, etc... is still fresh.
Get in 👍
We *used* to call them sleeping policemen in the UK when I was younger... passed down from at least my parents.
Where would your cut off be? I have a similar opinion and modern to me may fall into last 24, maybe 33 years e.g. starting with Gulf 1 1990 or Afghanistan 2001. Post war 1945 to end of cold war / Berlin Wall? or 2000 to close the gap between post and modern. Meh I don't make the rules :D
Back on Memoir to start the weekend. Scenario 6. French resistance against a powerful German force. A few turns in.
Well I'm glad it wasn't more serious for anything but the PC... Sounds like it has more than the issue you found. That's a bad smell.
caught fire!!! You didn't spray compressed air into it while on did you? I know *someone* who did that with a projector... who knew how easy it was to create an afterburner :D Definitely home time...
On a Friday whatever helps man.
holey... well it sounds like it picked up that stick anyway... onto the KB problem :) at least at this point it's not PEBCAK because K don't work :D
aaah well therein lies the problem... sounds like one of something is not right. try the sticks one at a time and in different slots (you may have to use specific slots it may be printed on the board or chassis. You may have to use like slots 1&4 or 1&2, etc..
Also if there are two sticks, try one at a time, could be the slot or one of the sticks, etc... trial and error time.
yeah that's what you're looking for tbh... contacts and dirt next or you are very unlucky with it... I assume it was working where it was moved to before you pulled things out? Could have happened in transit or anything like that. I hate computers and have been working on them for about 30 years!
I know advice has been given to blow on them and the slot to get dust out. I'd advise that too... as it's RAM have you definitely pushed it in all the way? it should sort of click into place. sometimes needs quite a bit of even pressure (don't snap it) Make sure it didn't leave a contact behind?
Summing up my Memoir '44 experience last night...
I enjoyed the show.. hope you do too.
Richard Borg came up with it around Lockdown I think.
Very easy to implement/adapt.

They are tough so plenty of replayability. Once beaten they will be different each time due to chit draw setup.
CELLES can also be played 2p.
I tend to use the Power of Three system for C&C ancients and Napoleon. I've been playing a lot of Memoir '44 over the weekend trying my own takes on that.
This is what my morning Gmail has become :(
Not sure I have a favourite but I love playing Commands & Colors based games solo.
Top 3 actual solo mode games are all Revolution Games:
CELLES
Manilla, Savage Streets
Stalingrad, Advance to the Volga
German victory 4-3 medals. The allies managed to push them back into the woods but they just weren’t fast enough getting up that damn cliff face.
Memoir ‘44 scenario 4 - Pointe du hoc. Let’s get started!
And just like that the battle is won by the Germans 4-3 medals. A good die roll from close artillery fire at the encroaching tank unit finishes them off. The tank unit being ineffective vs dug in town infantry tried instead to prize the artillery from its bunker the turn prior.
Germany pulled out “Their Finest Hour” card in the defence of Riva Bella. The understrength infantry saw off the commandos in the woods while the tanks in the town saw off the allied tank squad!
The German artillery took major offence to losing their buddy.
