For the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to restore and preserve the freedom our forefathers fought and died for, the War Department will DISCARD AND REJECT the woke prohibition on shitting in our drinking water. AMERICANS SHIT WHERE WE WILL.

I haven't commented on Palantir specifically but their actions are clearly in line with the rise of corporate giants as significant actors in the world order which is routinely under-discussed by pieces that only focus on what national governments do. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
I checked this too.
*20 seconds* of Reform logo display.
*No other* party logo displayed.
In local election purdah.
This is not normal. At all.
This is simply not true. Labour didn’t have to go right. They *chose* to go right. The big majority was a chance to reset everything back to sanity. Starmer chose the mad, bigoted, ignorant and dishonest route instead.
the thing about our current moment is that yes, the anti-AI and anti-big tech people are getting very reactive nowadays - but have you seen what they’re *reacting* to?
Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.
We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

The political history of the U.S. since the 1970s is basically that thing where a species' predator disappears and the species overpopulates and destroys the whole habitat. If centrists really wanted a "Normal" right, their top priority would be to bring back the left
I have, over more than 30 years of teaching, asked people more times than I can remember to ponder why Western societies fought for centuries to have "democracy" in politics, but lie back and let "business leaders" behave like tyrants.
Important story - few will be surprised, but the detail is fascinating.
You always get a lot of angry replies here if you complain about the Greens blocking solar farms or power grid upgrades. Maybe they should stop instigating pile-ons and start instigating pylons.
This is a big one. Stellar reporting from Sarah Fitzpatrick. To call it a must-read is an understatement: www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
FFS. Nothing takes me out of a film faster than failure to even do the most basic research. The Statue of Liberty is on an ISLAND. It is not buried in a jaunty angle in the sand.
“Why would we, ... in the name of protecting people, create a whole other legal mandate that requires the collection and storage of even more personally identifying information that would be subject to either data thieves or data breaches?” EFF’s @aaronmackey.bsky.social told @nbcnews.com.
Someone has documented the entire source code for Elite and explained how every line works, plus included deep dives into various functionality. Covers all main versions like BBC Micro, Commodore 64 and NES. You can also play online in browser. elite.bbcelite.com
"according to nine people familiar" is never a line you want in a story about you
BREAKING: We’re taking the government to court over Palantir.
The government is refusing to hand over important briefings given to Wes Streeting about the £330m NHS data contract with Peter Thiel’s surveillance firm
So we’re taking legal action.

It’s cool how the people who control the US government right now just openly take it as a personal attack when the Pope says something like “God will not reward evil men”
Was once told that responsible commentary should not posit mental health explanations for what public figures do: the commentator is not a mental health specialist, and the public figure is not their patient to diagnose. But there does come a point where one runs out of any other explanations.
I would go further, this is basically true of capitalism at large. A system of business which ensures zero fraud is so onerous as to be undesirable, our jobs as ethics professionals is to maintain that balance.
I have seen a lot of NIMBY selfishness in my time, but "my convenience matters more than cancer care" is a new low. Quite seriously tempted to email them and tell them as much.
This is the next big scandal and it is going to get much worse as we approach the summer
Did you know you're not entitled to any compensation if you miss a flight because you're stuck in a security queue? The airline is not responsible and neither is the airport, so you lose your money
Gah I was doing so well then I got rinsed by how long Thailand is

It is absolutely incredible that HMRC thought (and still thinks) that it is acceptable to tell every sole trader in the country that they have to file digitally, but that HMRC isn't providing any means to do, that you probably need to get some software from somewhere, and that it sucks to be you.
I'd always imagined that the scammer sending fake WhatsApp messages would be the one spending any money they conned out of you
But the money goes to the ringleaders, and the person messaging you is likely a terrified trafficked person who gets beaten if they don't scam enough money each day
