In other news, my MC Kyra is turning out to be more unhinged than I thought. She's currently doing circuits of the bedroom she's been imprisoned in and using the end of the bed as weights so she doesn't lose strength while being cooped up. The mental imagery is hilarious.

At work this morning but still riding high from last night's writing session when I learned the existence of the word "splenetic" (meaning cantankerous) and managed to use it in my scene. What a great word! Splenetic. Fabulous.

I've done the same with one of my projects. Got two-thirds of the way through and realised that the whole book felt better in a completely different tense. Writing the second draft has been a lot more fluid.
Getting some character work done while I wait for my friend! I find using personality archetypes is really useful for creating the basic frame of my characters, then I can add layers on top.
