n.b. the skill required for an llm to be useful for you has a minimum bound but also has a maximal bound, and you may not want to leap to assuming someone is failing to meet the minimum.
feels like adjusting for inflation and then claiming costs haven't soared is kind of self-defeating over a period with soaring inflation
the oa is actually a very good show somehow. it is very weird. that scene is not how i would pitch it to someone
damage taken from act 1 overgrowth elites. norm is 25 or less, but there are 4 instances of ironclad taking 50+ damage, all of which he survived.
another very enjoyable datapoint. sometimes ironclad just wants to get fcked up.
graph showing estimations of winrates for slay the spire 2 characters over time.
learned about kalman filters for estimating binomial variables where p changes over time today!
fun to see improvement. probably half getting better and half clicking on the fun random stuff i want to try less often.
as a slay the spire 2 content creator, i am told what a triangular number is, what a factorial is, and that osteon means bone in greek, about 10 times each per day, just in case anyone needs to know those things and wants an expert they can ask.
feed-based and short-form content have both always been very hard for me to care about. will continue making hyperspecific videos about things i care about, but after 10 years of it it's hard not to notice how many ways the medium i'm putting it on is failing me, it, and its audience.
iirc they were made with the sort of wool my uncle used to farm so i thought it'd be cool to buy them. then i started reading blog posts about how every tech bro wore them and now they are ai. weird.
increasingly moving on from the centralized social internet. the stuff i look forward to is mostly reading the seattle subreddit and watching a few youtube channels i've been subscribed to for years. weird vibe as a creator to not care much for the medium you create on.
bought a pair of all birds four years ago and now have more sympathy for people who have unwittingly ended up with tesla trucks. although i do think the shoes are quite comfortable.
it is 2026 and later this week(?, afraid to check schedule in case i spoil group a for myself) i will be watching tasteless and artosis commentate on a round of 16 starcraft: brood war asl group containing flash, jaedong, and bisu.
i am pretty sure everybody loves all your stuff i am sure you will be fine!!!
i cannot in good conscience recommend having a popular youtube channel.
What happens to player communities when a big game DLC releases? We surveyed Elden Ring before, during and after Shadow of the Erdtree's release and watched how message-writing behaviour changed in the base game and the new game areas. A lot of fun, and a unique, unrepeatable study opportunity!
it is okay, to save our world we can rely on the dems, who know a lot about how to stop belligerent imperialist warmongering in the middle east on account of having been in charge of the most belligerent imperialist warmonger in the middle east for ~50% of our lifetimes.
i end up back at climate change again because so much of the pressure on major powers to be imperialist right now is that geopolitics is changing as different resources become scarce and different parts of the world become more/less habitable.
"History will judge-" let me stop you right fucking there, history doesn't do fucking shit, I'm a historian, let's be clear here: elected officials need to do their fucking jobs, right now, before it happens, or future historians will judge THEM. Everyone knows and knew who Trump was.

took yesterday off to become, together with fide press officer michael rahal, the undisputed* doubles padel champion* of the 2026 candidates , but now we're back to the serious business of growing the game, r7 thread incoming

he is the sort of guy who would probably be fun to have a beer with as long as the topic didn't stray toward immigration. you wouldn't be surprised if your sister dated him but you would keep a guest room made up for her for when she needed it.
feels like he and robert both capably explore questions about what would happen if two young men who were good at hitting things with swords and very little else found themselves in charge of a continent.
i remember liking the starks a bit the first time, in an "okay i'll buy in to your story" good viewer kind of way, and it's also very funny that the thing grrm did with that was cut it off at the head so to speak. i think the season might actually be better if you're unattached to the starks.
i am rewatching GoT for the first time since i watched it on release and the part of s1 where you watch ned stark refuse to ever make an intelligent decision feels almost comical when you're able to look at it with hindsight knowing about what the characters he is interacting with do later.
that one that gets me is that my impression of what a human interested in what i do acts and talks like is slowly being obfuscated by these sorts of interactions. and that i used to be able to detect "chatbot speak" but now a bunch of humans are talking to chatbots enough that they emulate it.
watching this admin pilot a war reminds me of that quote about how every new graduating class of finance professionals reinvent fraud from first principles. just walking their way down a checklist of war crimes we already worked out were a bad idea, sometimes millennia ago.
